2 Bed duplex, Large Terrace, hidden oasis, Marble Arch/Hyde Park

This flat is in a unique, quiet development in a secret, green oasis set in prize winning gardens and just across the road from Hyde Park, one of London's largest parks, with quiet small streets around the development.

It is 2 minutes walk away from the centre of this busy metropolis with a boulevard which has all the urban facilities of shops, supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, and public transport around it.

The development is surrounded by mature trees and accessed through three locked iron gates in an old wall. There is no through road, but there is access to the underground parking, where there is a parking space available as an optional extra. Free parking space can be arranged for your guests on the ground level for up to 24 hours.

All you hear at night is the hoot of an owl. When you wake in the morning all you hear is the sound of bird song. It is in a true Oasis of calm and beauty. The flat has a large terrace running its full length, with an electrically controlled green and white striped awning for comfort during the summer. The terrace is like an outside room for eating and relaxing, overlooking the trees and gardens on the 3rd. (American 4th) floor. The flat is accessed both by lift or open air stairs.

The post is delivered to the door daily and the rubbish is collected twice a week from your own exterior, closed bin storage. It is comfortably furnished with everything you might find in a normal home and we live nearby for any urgent needs.

The lower floor has an open plan living room, dining and kitchen. By the entrance is a small separate utility room with a freezer, and a washing machine with dryer. On the upper floor there are two double bedrooms and the bathroom.

London's Park and Ride bicycle facilities are nearby for non-walkers or just for exploring.

Marble Arch tube station and many buses to all parts of London are 5 minutes walk away, as are the shops, cafes and multi-cultural restaurants of all kinds. Many places such Paddington station, St. Mary's Hospital, the Royal Academy, the Wallace Collection, Handel's house, the Wigmore Hall are all within easy walking distance (5-15mins.)

St. Pancras Station (Eurostar), the British Library, the V&A, Natural History Museum, the British Museum and the central London theatres are for slightly hardier walkers (30mins), or a short bus ride.

Walking in the secondary streets of central London is walking through one of largest and most beautiful areas of 18th and 19th centuries' classically disciplined architecture still in existence in London.

There is a good street market within easy walking (10mins) distance for fresh, cheap fruit and vegetables. For those in a hurry, there are many small specialised shops and supermarkets, some staying open all night.
We have two large, good supermarkets, Waitrose & Tesco.

I regret that no pets are allowed in the development, but London squirrels and many birds are common visitors.

The rent includes all taxes, utilities, internet etc. except a monthly charge of £30 for cleaning.

My wife and I spent a wonderful two weeks in this delightful, quiet ground-floor flat in the middle of London. It is very well appointed with everything you could need for a short stay; and is ingeniously designed to maximise the use of space. I stayed here between September and October 2017. The flat itself was beautiful with a very bookish and cultured ambience. Comfortable bed, everything working fine, and the location is fantastic. Our stay in Rima and John's lovely two bedroom apartment was wonderful. We wish we were still there and hope to return. The flat is like it's described, but even better and Rima and John are attentive, friendly, and helpful landlords. The location of this flat, across from an entrance to Hyde Park, five minutes from the start of Oxford Street, the Marble Arch tube stop on the Central Line and less than a 15 minute walk to Paddington Station is ideal. Once inside the gated community of St. George's Fields, you'd never know you're in the heart of central London. All you hear is birds and all you see is the beautiful park-like grounds/gardens that are kept immaculately. The flat, itself, has everything you could need including large items like a well-equipped kitchen, laundry, and printer to smaller things you'll need like a wheeler to take to the supermarket (just a 7 minute walk up Edgeware Road to Waitrose) to a drying rack for clothes that don't go in the dryer and herbs growing on the balcony to use in your cooking. Indeed, if you find you need something that isn't in the flat, Rima and John will be happy to get it for you. We asked about a clock radio for the main bedroom and one appeared the next day. I needed a quiche pan for the kitchen and Rima found one for me. I truly can't say enough about how lucky we felt to have found the perfect spot for our sabbatical stay in London. This flat is amazing and the owners even more so. This is a lovely flat with a very nice kitchen and beautiful bathroom. My sister slept well on the converted couch for a week. Rima and John are terrific hosts. I'll be staying here again if it's available. Location can't be beat. Simply outstanding.

Wish I was back here. Spent the first half of 2015 living in this charming flat. Lovely clean 2 bedroom place. Wonderful terrace and views out to the magnificent communal gardens. Our landlady and landlord were the very best you could ask for. Checked often that all was ok and fixed any issues that arose (lightbulb replacement etc.). Helpful in guiding us around the area too.
