3BR+Office House in London Suburbs
Our semi-detached, Tudor-style house is located in the village of Loughton, Essex which is served by the Central Line of the London Underground transport system – a 30 minute journey to the centre of London. The house occupies roughly a third of an acre at the top of a hill, surrounded by excellent neighbours in a quiet residential part of town. Loughton has three major supermarkets and a full high-street with shops and restaurants. The house essentially backs on to Epping Forest, an extensive royal forest and ex-hunting ground with meandering brooks and Iron-age earthworks.
Our house has 3 good-sized double bedrooms on the upper two floors, one recently renovated, and a fourth room we currently use as an office but which could be used as a single bedroom. There is a full bathroom together with a separate shower/sink room. The ground-floor has a living room, separate dining room with a piano, a small vanity room, a recently refurbished kitchen and a utility room which houses a freezer, second small refrigerator, and sink together with a washing machine and dryer. The back garden is roughly 70 feet deep and opens out to 100 feet or so at the rear (we live on the outside bend at the top of the hill). The borders are planted with mature shrubs and flowers, reached via the patio (picnic table, BBQ, and extensive collection of flower pots).
