About Me
I am a life-long Wisconsin resident and have lived in Madison since graduating from college. I returned to U.W. Madison for my MS and am currently enjoying my recently acquired UW emeritus status. Long ago, I purchased a two-unit property in a popular near-east side neighborhood of Madison and continue to manage the property along with my handy partner. I became interested in real estate and am now also a licensed Wisconsin real estate agent. I love to travel and participated in two semester abroad programs while in college. In total, I have been to around 30 countries. My partner and I are planning to travel and participate in volunteer activities around the US and internationally when we are able. Until then, we enjoy hiking, arts and crafts, and spending time with friends and family.

If I ever return to Madison, I would not want to live anywhere else. The 1890s apartment is modern but has historic charme. It has hardware floors, big windows and a view of Lake Monona. The apartment has everything that one might need - pans, cutlery, towels, washer and dryer (in the basement), dishwasher, microwave oven etc. Many ethnic restaurants, cafés, music places, the COOP, a lively community, bike paths etc. are all very close. The bus stop is 1 minute away. The bus leaves frequently to university campus and state capitol. The landlady (Francine) has been extremely helpful. She and Russ got a bunk bed when I needed one, a printer, a clothes-drier. The apartment feels spacious - with rooms opening up (bedroom and study can be closed off). Altogether: great! I had such a positive experience staying at this property and would highly recommend it. Having two bedrooms made it easy to use one as an office space, however, there is also plenty of space in the living room to do work if you needed to use the second bedroom as a sleeping space. The window seat in the living room has such a wonderful view of the lake and if the perfect place to sit and read a book! The location was perfect. There is a bus stop across the street, making it so easy to travel to the university and to other locations. Going outside while it was snowing was easy because I could wait until 1 minute before the bus was due and walk to the bus stop without having to stand around in the freezing cold weather. The area itself has lots of places nearby to eat and drink and the lake is at the end of the street. Francine was so kind and helpful and even dropped an extra blanket around when the temperature dropped unexpectedly. She was quick to respond to any questions I had. There is also a tenant upstairs and she was so lovely. If I have the opportunity to visit Madison again I will definitely stay here again! Excellent Natasha Arthars 11/19/2019 8:04:00 PM
I rented this apartment for one month and it was really convenient! The apartment was spotless clean and the neighbourhood is nice (with a beautiful lakeview) and quiet. A bus stop is just around the corner and it just took me 10 to 15 minutes to campus. Communication with Francine was very uncomplicated and she always made sure that I had a great time. She also provided everything I asked for. Highly recommend this apartment!
