2 Bedroom 'Cottage in the City' on Near Eastside Near Everything
This wonderful 2 bdrm (3 beds), 1 bath home -built in 1896 - is like a cottage in the city; fully furnished, roomy, cozy and quiet. It's conveniently located on the near eastside of Madison about 1 mile from the State Capitol, 3 miles from UW-Madison campus and the Memorial Union, directly on the commuter bike path for biking or exercising, and within a short walk to the Willy St. Food Co-op, great restaurants, cafes, bakeries, bars and summer street festivals.
A cedar-lined study/office with lots of storage opens to a balcony that overlooks the fenced-in backyard shaded by two large swamp white oak trees. Free, off-street parking for one car. Cable TV is available in the house, but guests pay for hook-up and monthly use. Broadband WiFi is included. (WiFi underwent a COVID19 test with two college students streaming courses and one adult working online. No issues reported.)
There are 3 beds: a queen and a twin upstairs, and a full size bed downstairs. One bathroom located upstairs. Washer and dryer in basement.
The house is nestled in the heart of the friendly, hip, safe and easy-to-get-around Williamson Street neighborhood which is near to several summer music festivals, the Wheels-on-Willy Bike Race, and the Iron Man Triathlon start/finish line. Lakes Mendota and Monona are within a short walk for summer sailing and sunset walks, or for ice skating and a pickup hockey game (warming shelter and skate rental nearby).
Dogs allowed. No cats. If you're traveling with kids, I can supply some kid-related items upon request.
Madison Metro bus stops and Trek's E-Cycle rent-a-bike station are located within a half-block.
If you're staying in Madison, THIS is where you want to be!
