Lovely 4 bed family home with garden Manchester UK

Our house is a lovely Edwardian semi-detached town house over four floors. On the ground floor we have an attractive hallway, sitting room, large kitchen diner, large vestibule area (for coats and shoes), utility room and toilet. On the first floor there are three double bedrooms and a family bathroom. The master bedroom is also en suite. The other two bedrooms are currently made up as children's bedrooms, one with two small single beds. One with a child-sized bed (which we are happy to replace with a regular single bed if preferred). The second floor has a large and very sunny double bedroom and large modern bathroom. There is also a basement with office, large playroom, utility room (clothes washing), large shower and toilet. Outside we have a mature garden with climbing frame, an outbuilding with water and electricity (great for use as a workshop or for home schooling) and a front yard with a trampoline.

Our house is situated on a vibrant and friendly cul-de-sac with a shared green space where children are welcome to play, and adults often meet to chat. Each year the street hosts an arts and crafts festival in May, and an outdoor party with live music, in September.

We are in walking distance of Alexandra Park, a smart Victorian park with green space, ponds, playgrounds and cafes and Manley Park, a smaller urban park with a good playground and ice cream cafe. We are also in walking distance - or an easy bus ride - from bars, shops and cafes in the suburb of Chorlton. The city centre is a short bus, Uber or bike ride away.

Whalley Range is a very friendly neighbourhood with a strong community spirit underpinning a variety of local community groups. There are three primary schools in easy walking distance including our children's own school. There are a number of secondary schools in walking distance or easily accessible by bike, car, bus or tram. We are very happy to make recommendations.

Manchester is a lively and fun city with lots of architectural and cultural interest. There are a variety of parks, canals and other open spaces such as Salford Quays to visit. Surrounding the city are many beautiful outdoor spaces which can be easily accessed by car or public transport including the Peak District and Lake District National Parks.

Hi! I am a human geography lecturer at Lancaster University, UK. I really enjoy travelling for conferences, and occasionally for research. I live in Manchester UK with my (large) family.
