Situated on the beautiful Oregon Coast, nestled within a 54 acre wildlife sanctuary, stunning views of Nehalem Bay, yet just a quick walk to classic brunch spots and boutiques, this spacious, bright and serene home is the perfect place to vacation or take your sabbatical. The home's south exposure and large deck was intentionally crafted to maximize daylight, even in the winter months, and the system of trails along the just steps from the door are perfect for daily walks (you can go 1, 3, 5, or 15 miles just out the door). The hill above the house boasts the beautiful Nehalem City park, and just five minutes away is the large Nehalem Bay State Park and Manzanita's endless miles of Beach. Short drives will take you to excellent hiking trails, fantastic crabbing terrain, spots for comfortable kayak rides and canoe trips, and, of course, surf destinations. The house has three levels: -- Main floor: kitchen, double height dining and living room, upright piano, powder room and laundry. The deck is off the kitchen. -- Second floor: reading nook with expansive views of the bay; two offices (that double as extra bedrooms, one that becomes a king size); two bedrooms and two full-size jack-and-jill bathrooms (one with a tub). One of the bedrooms is a queen; the other has a single and a futon. Office 1 has one twin bed, Office 2 has a twin-to king conversion. -- Basement: large TV room with a projector and wetbar; two guest rooms -- one with a king, and one with queen bed, and full bath both rooms share. We are set up for visitors and entertaining; whether you bring your kids, your friends, or host grandkids and cousins, there will be room enough for everyone to spread out and have their own time to relax, read, and create (though no large parties or reunions without permission and extra cleaning fees). The town of Nehalem is known for its vintage shops and brunch spots. Wanda's for brunch, Buttercup for Chowder and artesian ice-cream, and Wolf Moon for pour-overs, sourdough boules, and croissant. A five minute drive to Manzanita town will bring you to many boutiques and several grocery stores (an organic co-op, Fresh Foods, and the Little Apple). In addition, Marzano’s serves great pies, the Offshore Grill for more upscale seafood, the Manzanita Wine Bar, MacGregor's Whiskey Bar, Thai food, etc. In other words, you can enjoy the solace of the trees, the views of the bay, and yet have the conveniences of a great vacation spot. Price notes: One month minimum rental. Cleaning is additional and will be taken from the deposit. I
