This apartment was a dream find for my time in New Haven. The location is ideal. Walking distance from the University, walking distance from lovely East Rock park and the local pub and restaurant life is great too.

The apartment was perfect for working and relaxing. The study is beautiful in the morning sunlight and the living room was very cozy in the evening. Clare has taken great care with selecting high spec furniture and fixtures, so the style and design are very easy to enjoy.

If I was going back to New Haven, I would not hesitate to book Clare's place again. What a treat!

Clare’s apartment is absolutely incredible — the photos really cannot do it justice! The space is immaculate, and every room is large and airy. The house itself is beautiful, with a large garden (with lovely fragrant herbs!) I was astonished at how nice the apartment was when I first arrived, and I continued to feel this happy throughout the 4 months I spent there. Clare was so understanding and helpful throughout the experience, I couldn't have asked for a better landlord. I was there in a period that straddled summer and winter, and in both instances the apartment was the right temperature -- lovely and cool, then cosy. The internet connection was also great, strong enough for me to have lots of Skype catch ups early in the mornings -- which I knew wasn't the case for some of my peers. I honestly couldn't recommend the space more! Excellent Rebecca Birrell 4/12/2019 3:45:00 AM
We spent 3 months of my Sabbatical at the apartment during July-September 2017 and experienced a great connection with Clare. All our needs and requests were promptly answered, always with a smile and friendly atmosphere. We enjoyed the time and the relations with Clare and definitely felt like at home. Obviously, next time we'll try to stay there again. Excellent Ami 4/10/2019 12:09:00 PM
My experience at Clare's place is very different from the previous reviewer's/tenant's. I started renting this apartment in January of this year so the weather was certainly different (!!!) - but I haven't had problems with the internet, which I use quite regularly and frequently. My experience in communicating with Clare has also been very different. We correspond by text and/or email and she always responds promptly. In fact, I have to comment on her general friendliness and willingness to help. Two weeks after my arrival in New Haven I had an accident but I felt comfortable enough to ask Clare to do some grocery shopping for me and she dropped me to work for the three weeks that it took me to recover. In big and small ways, she helps me - recommending someone to clean the apartment, someone who can help me choose colors for the apartment I am buying, helping me set up an air mattress for my guests. I am very happy with all aspects of my experience living in Clare's apartment and am very happy to give it a strong endorsement. Excellent Veneeta Dayal 4/10/2019 11:04:00 AM
Unfortunately, flat had major problems with internet - for the last three weeks I did not have internet connection at all, which made me avoid coming home - just came back to sleep. The most annoying part of this was Clare's silence. Although I wrote her several times about this problem - she did not reply, or attend to it, leaving me in a situation I could not sort out myself. She later excused that with the weather. I think that she only has router in her own flat, and enjoyed smooth connection, while the transmission on the flat above is very unstable/ non existent. After leaving the flat, she charged me for $190 for a two dents in a soft wall, caused by a chair corner moved against that wall, something I could have attended to myself without problem, would I have thought there WAS a problem - given the fact that there were two walls left unpainted and unattended in the flat, before I moved in. Slow response on Clare's part did not make things easy or comfortable. All in all, it was an unpleasant encounter for me in comparison to previous and current experience in home rentals. Please check all details, including the quality of internet connection, before moving in.

REPLY FROM LISTER: I regret your stay was so affected by a weak internet signal. As this complaint had never risen before, it took a little time for the connection to be made between humidity and the strength of the internet signal. I spoke several times with the internet company, and communicated with you about their findings. Choosing not to use the air conditioning raised the humidity in the apartment which had a direct affect on the internet signal. This did not occur during prior summers, and has not occurred in the interim. I trust the refund went some way to appeasing your complaint. I also hope you will remember other ways in which I worked to ensure your stay was pleasant and productive.
