Stunning Bright Apartment with View of Central Park Minutes from Columbia University
This is a beautiful, large and bright one-bedroom apartment one block from Central Park. Situated on the 6th floor of an excellently maintained and run building, with 24-hour doorman, the apartment has been recently refurbished to a high standard. It has a large separate dining room and a brand new and fully equipped kitchen with high-end appliances. The bathroom is also new and has attractive Italian floor tiling. There are hardwood floors throughout the apartment and, uniquely for New York City, windows looking out on three sides.
There are French doors between the dining room and the living room, which has a dedicated study/work area. The bedroom has two closets and a queen-size bed. The apartment is equipped with sheets, towels, duvet, ironing board, iron, vacuum cleaner and other basics. Everything here is less than a year old, as the apartment was just refurbished and furnished last fall. It is a truly magical apartment. Light streams into every room from the east, south and west. There are magnificent sunset views of New York's famous water towers from the living room, and a view of Central Park—which is only a block away—from the bedroom.
There is laundry in the building and it is free. There is also a separate communal lounge on the top floor of the building, which has views across the city, Morningside Park and Central Park. The communal space is furnished with sofas and chairs and has a piano, a large television and access to a roof terrace with outside seating.
The location is lovely. Central Park is a 2-minute walk from the front door. There is a farmer’s market 1/2 a block away every Saturday, and a large grocery store across the street that is open daily. Trader Joes and Whole Foods are also quite close. As the apartment is situated on the borders of Harlem, Morningside Heights and the Upper West Side, you can benefit from the cafes, shops, restaurants, amenities and wonderful atmosphere of these great neighborhoods. Columbia University, Barnard College, The Manhattan School of Music, and Teacher’s College are about a ten-minute walk away. There are also great transport links downtown: a block to the C and B trains and 3 blocks to the 1 train.
This is a sublet of a faculty apartment in a well-run Barnard College/Columbia University building. It is suitable for a faculty couple or a single person. You must be affiliated with a university or a non-profit and will need to show some kind of proof to qualify. Sorry, but no pets or smoking inside or on the shared roof terrace.
Price is per calendar month. It includes gas and water, but excludes electricity. Depending on the season and your usage, the electricity bill will vary and will be added to your monthly rent.
The deposit is $2500.
This is a bright and beautiful home. We are looking for a quiet tenant who is polite, clean and who will enjoy and appreciate its charms. Thank you.
