Quiet, bright Columbia/CCNY 1-bedroom with washer/dryer

Make yourself at home in this fully furnished apartment, steps from City College in Hamilton Heights and walking distance to Columbia University’s main campus and new Manhattanville campus, Barnard and Manhattan School of Music. A longer walk or short subway ride takes you to Columbia’s School of Medicine. This is an ideal apartment for academics, graduate students, or visitors requiring housing in New York.

About the apartment: Quiet, south-facing and gets plenty of light. It is easy to separate work from home with the designated workspace in the entryway that can't be seen from the main apartment. Enjoy the balcony, washer/dryer (in the unit, not in the basement!), built-in heater and A/C unit in each room, walk-in closet, new queen-sized mattress, bamboo floors, and instant hot water. Living room has a queen-sized sleeper sofa. The apartment feels spacious while only 650 sq ft. My neighbors are great, the building is safe. Easy access to green space in St. Nicholas Park and on the City College campus or choose to walk along the Hudson river.

About the kitchen: Fully stocked with plenty of dishes and cookware, a dishwasher, and a stove-top espresso pot and milk steamer.

About the building: This elevator building was built in 2006. You’ll have access to the back yard, exercise room and roof deck with a sweeping view of the Hudson river and midtown Manhattan.

Nearest subways: 1 train (137th street and Broadway), B and C trains (135th street and St. Nicholas Ave.) with easy transfers to 2/3, A/D. Plenty of buses nearby.

Includes sheets and towels.

Everything is clean, neat and functional. Perfect for a single person or a couple.

This is a smoke and pet free environment.

About Me
Hi, I’m Caitlin. I got my M.A. in Adult Learning and Leadership at Teachers College at Columbia University (walking distance from the apartment). In 2018, I edited a book of case studies, "Applied Improvisation: Leading, Collaborating and Creating Beyond the Theatre," published by Bloomsbury Press. The second in that series, "The Applied Improvisation Mindset" comes out in August, 2021. I design and facilitate experiential learning courses for business leaders, teams, and not-for-profits—all of it virtual at the moment. I bought my Harlem apartment in 2014. I got married a few years later and decamped to New Rochelle to live with my husband, making the apartment available to you! We think you’ll enjoy it as much as we have.
