About Me
After graduating from one of the Grandes Écoles in Paris, I worked in industry for 20 years. As Director of Marketing for a multinational company, I travelled all over Europe and to the Middle East and North America. A change in career gave me the opportunity to teach as a lecturer at University and business schools and ultimately to return to Nice where I grew up. I enjoy meeting international travellers and am keen to share with guests my knowledge of Nice's unique history, the French language, and my favourite places to visit, eat and relax. My wife, Jane who is English, loves France and shares my enthusiasm about Nice. As editorial assistant to a specialist heritage publisher, she adapted and translated a visitors' guide to Nice and a regional cookery book. As we both love walking, I was more than happy to accept an invitation by her editor to write a guide of off-the-beaten-track walking trails along the coast and in the area around and above Nice, including the High Country and the Mercantour National Park. One thing leads to another and my second walking guide is about to be published (April 2019).
