One bedroom studio apartment close to Melbourne University, Hospitals and city

This light, airy and very stylish one bedroom apartment is situated in North Melbourne, 15mins walk to Melbourne University, the Royal Children's Hospital and the Royal Melbourne and Royal Women's Hospitals, and 25 mins walk to the centre of Melbourne and the Queen Victoria Markets. It is just around the corner from North Melbourne's many cafes.
The apartment is a fully self-contained as a renovated studio accessed by the rear laneway. (The apartment has just being renovated). It accommodates 2 people.
The location, light and inner city feel is what makes this apartment excellent! It is close to Melbourne University but also in walking distance of 3 major hospitals. The location is also conjusive for evening strolls along the main street of North Melbourne or into the city for shopping, dining or enjoying Melbourne's vibrant bar life.
A car is largely unnecessary with this location. Trams are easily accessible a 2 minute walk away, or you can rely on bikes for journeying away from the inner city and transporting children. This is a very popular form of transport in Melbourne and a bikeshop has just opened up in the lower parts of the street.
The neighbours are very helpful and friendly, and often on summer evenings you can join in a street barbecue and listen to some accomplished musicians.

We are a french canadian couple that stayed one year 1\2 in this great house. It was really convenient to be that close to down town Melbourne and even closer to the great and famous Victoria's Market. The terrasse is really pleasant. The owners were always helpful and supportive when we needed some things to be done. They were attentive to try the make our Australian experience a good momento... and they succeeded. The people on the street are just a blast !!! this place was a A+++ for us. We highly recommend this house. This was a lovely home away from home, cozy but spacious enough for our family of four and furnished with everything we needed for our six month stay. Our 4 year olds were especially happy to have toys and bikes to play with, and the adults were pleased to have fresh lime and mint from the backyard. The separate office in the back was very useful as a writing retreat on my sabbatical. We were spoiled by the selection of cafes, restaurants and shopping in the surrounding blocks, and miss the various neighbours that we became friends with - they even started supplying the kids with sidewalk chalk!
