1 BR Apartment in the 11th Near République and the Marais

Spacious and luminous one bedroom 60m2 Hausmannian apartment near Place de la République and the Marais. Modern kitchen and bathroom (with underfloor heating), bedroom with luxury mattress, double glazed windows giving a lovely view over the Boulevard, leather sofa, extendable dining table, desk, high quality sound system with a selection of classical CDs, tuned Steinway upright piano and scores, plus around 2000 books in English and French, mostly literature, history and art history. Just outside the front door is the metro (line 9), with access to lines 3, 5, 8, 11 and multiple bus lines within a five minute walk. There is a wide variety of restaurants, bars, butchers, bakers and food shops nearby (we'll be delighted to recommend a few), plus several nearby supermarkets and the local food market at Richard Lenoir (Tuesdays and Fridays) a three minute walk away.

This party posted the following feedback for me:
'I am happy to refer Ryan Eiland to Sabbatical Homes. I have known him in Paris for several years, where he still maintains a residence, although he now spends more of his time in Brussels. Ryan is a rare blend of high European cultivation and a warm-heartedness which may derive from his formative years in Texas.'

We can’t begin to describe how much this beautiful flat felt like home, and when we saw a picture of it again today, suddenly we felt at home again. The flat is and feels quite spacious, it was very well equipped, it had an excellent workspace, and all those books around us made us feel so much more erudite. The neighborhood was fantastic – so much real-world Parisian flow of life in the nearby Place de la République (and an exquisite statue of Marianne), yet not in a voisinage touristique ... we’d open the windows, look and listen, and instantly we felt more Parisian. Access to the Métro was beyond superb, and we had no qualms about walking around the neighborhood at any hour. Ryan is an absolute gem of a human being; which we knew from the start, when he wanted to make absolutely sure he was there to greet us so two women in their 60s wouldn’t have to carry their suitcases up four flights of stairs. There is only one downside to this wonderful appartement Parisien – as I write this review, we’re not there. Excellent Michelle Peterson 1/30/2018 3:08:00 PM
