Paris Sunny Apartment with Living Room and Two Bedrooms (3 pièces)

Sunny, spotless apartment with living room and two bedrooms in the 11th arrondissement, located in the carré d'or, available for rent beginning Summer 2021.

The neatly furnished apartment, with living room and two bedrooms, is on the Rue Alexandre DUMAS, Métro Rue des Boulets (#9) or Nation (#1, 2, 6, 9, RER A) in a 1910 building located in a non-touristic neighborhood with every convenience only steps away: three twice-weekly open-air markets, a post office, velib stations, numerous grocery, cheese, wine stores, butchers, bakeries, small groceries, and hardware stores. Many restaurants, some quite celebrated, are within a few blocks. The apartment is 53.2 square meters on a top floor of a building with an elevator. It is very sunny, facing south south-east, with double insulated windows, a security entry door, delightful eat-in kitchen, two large bedrooms, 13 square meters each, a livingroom with a table for 6 people, an American-style bathroom, washer-dryer, refinished parquet floors, crown mouldings, wireless internet, digicode entry, and concierge. There are two built-in workspaces with desks, bookshelves, and many books. All utilities are included in the rent, including telephone, except for calls to cellphone and some countries. Our housekeeper cleans the apartment once a week (40€ per visit, not included in the rent), and she will also do laundry and ironing for an extra charge. No pets and nonsmokers only, please.

It was pretty much a nightmare dealing with the faults of this apartment and especially the owner of the apartment. Every other day there was something. There was once a severe leak in the kitchen that the owner failed to fix. I heard all the excuses possible, until I just had to get a guy myself to fix it. There were things on the amenity list there were not there,; a television set is the most notable one. The oven did not work properly, so I had to buy my own oven/toaster. The towel warmer broke down and the owner did not bother to fix it. The apartment is advertised that it can accommodate four people. There was not enough storage and/or linen for even two people. And, what was there was really old, largely inadequate, and unappealing. Overall, the apartment is not in perfect condition, as advertised. I rented the apartment for ten months, but had to leave after six month because of the Covid-19 pandemic. In five out of the six months, I spent in the apartment the building was under massive renovation. I was never told about it, despite the fact that the owner knew about it.

I paid the rent for the entire period, because a deal is a deal. Well, so I thought. As soon as I left for the US the owner took possession of the apartment, emptied all the closets and drawers and put all my private belongings on the beds and floor, spread all over the place. Then she had the nerve to send me an email stating that I have left few things in the apartment. Yes, that was true, I left everything. I was paying her rent. She never notified me that she was going to enter the apartment. You simply entered my apartment without permission and did in it as you wished.

So, to summarize, it was nothing short of a nightmare. Things got especially bad after I made my last payment. So, if you rent this apartment be very careful. Have everything in writing!!!
