Beautiful Paris apartment at the Seine, overlooking the marina and le Marais

Spacious, sunny Belle Époque apartment with all modern conveniences, this apartment is located the juncture of the river Seine and the Canal St Martin, looking out on Pont Morland and the Port de Plaisance (Paris marina).

With one street leading to the night life of the Bastille, the charm of the Place des Vosges and the hip atmosphere of the Marais, the other to the elegant Ile Saint Louis and Notre Dame Cathedral, you will have Paris at your feet ... and an extremely comfortable place in which to put those feet up at the end of the day. We've renovated this 1000 sq. ft. apartment to provide all modern comforts, while keeping the 19th-century charm of the mouldings, wainscoting, and original parquet floors. Our tenant/guests keep coming back because they appreciate the apartment's spaciousness and light, and the feeling of being "chez soi".

The kitchen is a "good cook's kitchen," with every implement you might want (including a cocotte [pressure cooker], a friteuse [deep fryer] a Doufeu [Le Creuset 'dutch oven'], and a mandoline, as well as a food processor and hand-held blender).

In addition to the new stove (with 3 gas + 1 electric burners) and new dishwasher, the apartment boasts the largest clothes washer and (separate) clothes dryer available for sale in France.

Sleeping spaces: The apartment has two bedrooms that look out on a very quiet, private garden belonging to the building. The "chambre bleue" has a 160-cm wide bed, and the "chambre verte," a 140-cm wide bed. This means that the apartment is suitable long-term for three adults maximum, or for a couple with one child (or possibly two very young children). Slightly larger groupings have rented in the apartment for stays of a week, making use of the sofabed in the salon.

[The 2nd photo shows the sunset visible from the front windows, looking out over the marina (Port de Plaisance) and the lock (Pont Morland) that connects the Seine to the Canal St Martin.]

NEWS FLASH: The 'mystery woman' for whom Leonardo diCaprio was searching in the OPPO "Find Me" ads was spotted in this apartment! (That is, the commercial was partially filmed here. See: http://tinyurl.com/3dnpdwk or Google "Oppo Find Me". But don't worry: there's no above-ground Métro opposite the apartment -- that's just a Hollywood illusion!)

Lovely character apartment in the heart of Narbonne. Laura, the owner is very accommodating to make sure your visit is authentic. Lovely beaches and vineyard villages are close by. Excellent Kris 9/4/2020 2:47:00 AM
Laura's apartment in Paris was just lovely, as is Laura herself. She was attentive and helpful and a delight to converse with [over email]. Who could not love Paris?! But Laura's apartment made it extra special. We hope to return one day. Excellent PETER 9/2/2020 10:18:00 PM
Everything about this booking and stay was excellent. Laura's communication and assistance was outstanding and she went above and beyond to make our stay a pleasant one. Instructions were clear and concise and the apartment was clean and as described. It was in a quiet part of town with easy access to everything and lovely local bakeries and restaurants. Our two boys had the best time of their life. Even on the last day when Laura had ordered us a taxi and there ended up being a fun run on our street (so the street was blocked) I was able to call Laura in the US (and wake her up - sorry again Laura) - she was able to rebook the taxi for us. Wonderful! Excellent Paul Hopkins 9/4/2017 7:06:00 PM
Everything was wonderful with our stay in this two bedroom apartment overlooking the marina. The location is very safe and has easy access to all the tourist sites. Notre Dame and Ile Saint Louis are within walking distance and there are Metro and bus stops very close to the apartment. It was so nice being able to walk out the door and be steps away from the Seine River. You can walk across the bridge over the river and be in the Jardin des Plantes, which has beautiful gardens and a zoo. Restaurants are within walking distance too, as is The Marais, my favorite area of Paris. The host was very helpful in recommending restaurants, off-the-beaten path sites not to miss and the easiest way to get to the sites. The instructions for getting from the airport to the apartment, codes to enter the building and how to operate everything in the apartment were well written and easy to follow. There are double locks on the doors! I felt very safe. The living room and large dining room overlook the marina and the two bedrooms have windows that overlook the garden area. It's a great place to stay, so much better than a hotel!!! There's also an elevator to go up the one floor to the apartment, although the stairs are wide and easy to walk up too. The beds were comfortable and there are desks in each bedroom. There's a nice armoire in the bedroom I stayed in. The kitchen has everything you need and the bathroom is clean and nice. The water pressure was fine. I wouldn't have changed anything or asked for more! The host was always available and assisted me in booking a taxi to the CDG airport for my return trip! Our month in the Narbonne apartment was beyond expectations. Communication with Laura was always good. The preparation and cleaning of the apartment was thorough and we moved in to make ourselves a "home from home" with every amenity provided to do this. The excellent Narbonne market is within easy walking distance and in itself, is a highlight of this medium sized city. We did not have our own transport but were able to travel around the area either by bus, train (when not on strike!) or with 24 hour car rentals. Other days were spent people watching alongside the canal or in the large square. All this added up to give us a very genuine French experience! Thank you Laura!
