2 BR, 2 BA, spacious and comfortable apartment in Rome, Trastevere

This is a lovely, comfortable, refurbished apartment in renovated 19th-century building, close to everything. If you're coming to Rome, this is the place you want to be. With two large tiled full bathrooms, a delightful triple room with full-sized beds and desks for all, an enormous master bedroom with two study areas, modern kitchen, dining room and living room, our apartment is comfortable for a family of 5, such as our own, and luxurious for single scholars or smaller ménages. Built near the turn of the 20th century, it has very high ceilings, marble floors, and huge windows looking over street and interior courtyard. On the 3rd floor with elevator. The location is perfect, on the perimeter of Trastevere, not in the midst of its famous nightlife. Just down the steps from the American Academy on the Janiculum Hill, in walking-distance of the Vatican, the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, S. Maria in Trastevere, downtown shopping of all kinds, as well as a variety of public transportation to all points in the city, around the corner from the San Cosimato piazza, playground and market, only a short walk up the hill to the enchanting park of Villa Sciarra, magnificent views of the city from the Fontanone and Janiculum, and the immense stretches of bike and walking trails of Villa Pamphili. Weekly cleaning included in the rent. We prefer academic year or semester renters, since this is our house and we live in it in the summers, but will negotiate shorter stays.

We rented this lovely apartment for ten months in 2008-2009. It is a spacious, light and airy apartment in a perfect location. We were both teaching in Rome for the year, with our daughter who attended public school at the nearby Scuola Regina Margarita. The apartment worked very well for the three of us--our daughter loved the bunk beds and child-friendly decor in her room, and we appreciated that the master bedroom was spacious and had two work spaces for us. Owners were responsive when minor glitches arose and also flexible about dates. Highly recommended! Excellent The2Professors 1/13/2013 12:32:00 PM
