Rome - A bright sunny 2 Bdrm Apartment in Garbatella_WiFi and cleaning included

A comfortable and spacious (750 ftsq) 2 bedroom apartment located on the 3rd floor on an elevator-building within a tranquil courtyard setting. The building has intercom security, portiere doorman and it is situated in the vibrant Garbatella neighbourhood that lies within easy reach of Rome’s historical centre and is just a short stroll to supermarkets, cafes, bakeries, pasticcerias, gelaterias, pizzerias, restaurants, parks, piazzas, swimming pool, and the Garbatella fresh fruit and vegetable market.

The apartment is only a short 10 min walk to the Garbatella subway station (on the B-line) from which you easily reach the historic centre of Rome (e.g. Circo Massimo-2 stops; the Colosseum and Forum-3 stops). You can also easily reach "Sapienza" University (7 stops), the University Hospital Policlinico Umberto I (7 stops) and Termini (the main train terminus for local, national and international trains, 5 stops). In addition, the local bus (#716, 5min walk) will also take you to the historic centre of Rome (e.g. Piazza Venezia) as well as University "Roma Tre". Other historical sites such as Appia Antica (one of ancient Rome's main roads which is now an archeological park) and the Santa Domitilla Catacombes are also within walking distance.

This large apartment (70m2) has an open living plan, high ceilings, plenty of natural light, floating floorboards throughout the living areas and includes one large bdrm (queen bed, built-in robes), a second small bdrm with a single bed (190 cm x 80 cm), open plan living/dining area with a sofa bed and dining table, fully equipped European kitchen (incl. dishwasher, fridge/freezer), bathroom/shower (incl. washing machine) and has ceiling fans and central heating (thermostat-controlled) throughout. The apartment includes a small private balcony overlooking a leafy courtyard below.
All utilities (gas, electricity, heating, water), internet and weekly cleaning are included.

I have lived in this place for over ten years and love it dearly, now freshly painted it looks brighter the ever! Check the feedback and get in touch if you would like first hand comments from previous guests.

About Me
My name is Chiara Murgia and I am a research scientist with over 20 years experience in nutrition and biochemistry. I have worked in major international research centres in Rome Italy (INRAN, now CRA-NUT), New York USA (New York University) and Australia (Adelaide University), and Monash University in Melbourne Australia. My cozy apartment in the neighbourhood of Garbatella, Rome is in an ideal location for a working sabbatical, holiday, a base for touring Italy or a quiet get-away.

I stayed one month at Chiara's apartment in Rome. Staying in Garbatella allowed me to see a different side of Rome than I had previously experienced. You are close to the historic area without the tourist crowds. At the same time you can easily visit the historic area by Metro or Bus. Grocery stores, bakeries, pharmacies, restaurants, are close and walkable. You can tell this is someone's home and not a random Airbnb. This year there was an unseasonable amount of rain and this was a very comfortable home to spend time in when the weather didn't cooperate. Excellent Kim Walton 12/4/2019 4:59:00 PM
Chiara's apartment is ideal for anyone who looks for a quiet but central place in Rome. It has all the advantages of the lively aspects of Rome, nearby cafes, restaurants, food markets, and very convenient transportation to the city center, with an added value of the incredible neighborhood of Garbatella with its calm atmosphere and historic feeling. Staying in this apartment gives you an immediate feeling of a local Roman citizen, rather than a tourist. The apartment's interior is very cosy, with plenty of light, air, and space. While Chiara was very prompt in answering all our questions by e-mail from abroad, Maria Paola, her sister, was very efficient, satisfactorily taking care of any problem we raised. We stayed here for two months and enjoyed it so much that we are already planning our next stay in this apartment. Thank you very much, Chiara and Maria Paola! We stayed at Chiara's apartment in Garbatella for a month, and were very happy with it. As the pictures show, it is spacious and well-appointed, with a good kitchen and lovely balcony. The neighborhood is quiet and pleasant. Chiara was very helpful and kind in all our communications with her. We would definitely stay there again. Excellent Henrietta 7/6/2016 2:30:00 PM
My girlfriend and I have stayed two and a half months in the heart of Garbatella, in a great flat in a nice street. Chiara is a wonderful host, she made us feel at home right from the start. Whenever we had a question, she answered our emails in a couple of hours. And if she couldn't help us immediately, her friendly sister Paola stepped in to give a hand. Everything in the flat works properly, and due to its luminous, spacious character and cosy terrace we felt like we were living out in the Roman air all the time.

The location invites you to indulge in Roman life: you are not among fellow tourists, but you will feel surrounded by real Romans. You are never far from the city centre, and you will discover the real Roman life. A daily market is situated right in front of the door, supermarkets/small shops/restaurants/coffee bars are nearby. Moreover a couple of bus stops at the end of the street enable you to travel in different directions throughout the city. Should you not want to go to the city centre, take your time to discover la Garbatella with its numerous architectural treasures. And from there on, go to the Via Appia Antica, leave the city and become bewildered by the nature.

We highly recommend Chiara's flat! Don't hesitate if you're looking for an interesting starting point in Rome: hit it off from la Garbetalla and make your way through the city. You won't regret it.

I stayed at Chiara's house for one month in august-september 2014 with my husbund and it was a great experience.

First of all, Chiara is an attentive, helpfull and gentle host. Her place is a real house, spacious, luminous, cozy and with everything we needed for our daily routine. And everything works properly.

The neighbourhood is great: open market, markets, restaurants, farmacy, subway station and bus stop, all in a walk distance. Beyond the facilities, Garbatella is a beautiful and cozy neighbourhood and although is close to the center is a quiet place.

We really appreciated staying at Chiara's place.
