Very Cute Furnished backyard Guest House 2 Blocks to ocean, 5 min. walk downtown AVAILABLE 1/3/21 $3000/mo.

ALL UTILITIES/INTERNET ARE INCLUDED - ALL of them!
This house sleeps 1-4 people – able to have 2 live there and optional room for 2 overnite guests. It is only a 5 to 8 minute walk to downtown via Pacific Avenue and two blocks to Santa Cruz Boardwalk.

This guest house is behind a beautiful historic Victorian built in 1910, newly converted from garage and done very tastefully, fully updated with many well-appointed touches including artwork, new hardwood floors, recycled countertops, all new plumbing, all modern retro appliances and internet with a Wi-Fi ready TV that can stream Netflix. Fresh paint inside and out. Parking is easily available in driveway or on street.
Utilities – electric/gas/garbage/water/gardener/internet/Netflix are ALL covered and included in price.
There is a cozy bedroom with heat, and a kitchen/dining/living area in one nice-sized area that is very comfortable. We provide it completely furnished with dishes, silverware, pots, pans etc., and all towels & bedding! Bed is a double.
It is very close to bus lines including to UCSC and a VERY QUICK 8 minute walking distance to downtown, stores, and parks. It is on a residential street without significant traffic. It is safe and yard is locked. Noise is not a problem. Neighbors are very nice. Also access to outdoor surf shower and room for surfboards and bikes.

The beach is two blocks away and Cowell’s & Steamers world famous surf areas are walking distance. Everything very easily reached on bike. The area is safe. The windows are thick and keep out noise, which is not a problem anyway.

There are the following things nearby ALL within a ten minute walk: over 20 excellent restaurants (at least 3 Zagat rated), 3 movie theaters with many foreign and indie films, dozens of clothing stores, a Japanese sauna/spa, several coffee houses, an authentic Chinese tea house, 2+ pubs, wine tasting shops, craft beer shops, many bars, music & musical instrument stores, a Verizon store, post office, bookstores, at least a few live music venues, 2+ yoga/massage studios, parks, bike shops, 3 farmers markets, grocery stores (including herbal, Trader Joe's, New Leaf, Mexican, Safeway, etc.), and drug stores, a bagelry, cafes, bakeries, and churches. All walking distance! It is an easy quick couple blocks to West Cliff and the beach and the wharf which has its own complete amusement park, concerts, surfing, biking, kayaking, sailing. Free concerts in summer on beach.
This place is a hidden jewel and unbelievable fun for people of all ages. You do not need a car to stay here. Traffic access to Freeway and Hwy 1 is very easy. Airport shuttle available. Day hikes to the redwoods are right nearby. Visitors find this place without any problem. Come enjoy the coastal life!

My husband and I rented this lovely guest house for two months while our house near the UCSC campus was being renovated. We couldn't have wished for a better arrangement. The guest house has wonderful bright sun tunnel skylights, top-notch new appliances (with a retro look), and beautiful hardwood floors. The backyard garden is a real plus. Since we were working from home, it was crucial to have reliable internet connections. When we told the owner that the internet was sometimes too weak for our work, he immediately looked into it, and put in extra boosters. After that, no problem connecting! We stayed at Towne Terrace, Santa Cruz for 4 months and it was fantastic. The house came with everything we wanted including wireless internet. We enjoyed the outdoor patio and the new outdoor chairs and table that Larry had recently purchased. It was great to have a short walk into downtown Santa Cruz. Your house is even more wonderful than the photos show. You & your wife have a wonderful eye for renovating, furnishing and decorating. And such beautiful art hanging on the walls! "Tastefully appointed" should be stated in your ad at Sabbatical Homes. We shall be very comfortable here this year! The location is incredibly convenient. This is a very beautiful and cozy home near downtown Santa Cruz (about 5-10 minutes walk - very handy for eating out and those that like strolling around!). Our family of four consisting of two adults and two kids (2 years and less than a year) fit in very nicely. The house in well maintained and has a good standard. Even though very close to Mission St with quite a bit of traffic, the house is quiet. Several playgrounds within 10-20 minutes walk.
