Beautiful, bright, Montlake Craftsman home

Our 1800 sq ft Craftsman house in the quiet and leafy Montlake neighborhood of Seattle has been our home for 15 years. We're looking for a responsible couple or small family (we have a 9-year old, so some age appropriate toys are included) while we're out of town.

Beautiful open floor plan includes living room, dining room and modern kitchen toward the front of the house, along with a covered porch looking over the lush, private garden.

Two bedrooms and two bathrooms accommodate up to 4 people (a third bedroom is available on request). A newly-renovated daylight basement opens onto a private backyard. A gas BBQ grill is available for summer cookouts.

The house is on a quiet side street one block from bus stops that go directly to the University District (48) and Capitol Hill (43). The University of Washington campus and light rail station are a mile away. We're 3 blocks from the UW Arboretum, one of Seattle's most pristine parks, and the exquisite Japanese Garden.

Great short term housing option for families moving to Seattle and needing a furnished rental while looking for long-term. We're potentially flexible on end date.

We stayed at Scott & Margo's house for a summer with our kids. Scott & Margo were wonderful hosts. They were communicative and very helpful. Their house is beautiful, elegantly decorated, and very sensibly equipped. It also has a wonderful front porch. (This was particularly nice during covid, because if we needed to meet with someone they could join us on the porch in a socially distanced outside way.) The neighborhood is wonderful; it's a strong community and the neighbors were welcoming and generous. The front and back garden are both gated, which is very nice for young children. The front garden is quite beautiful, and the back is a great play-zone that kids could use.

Scott & Margo were very kind; since we have younger children, they left out a bunch of their family's "little kid friendly toys" for us to borrow. Our kids still beg to go back. I want to be clear, though, this is a beautiful house, very tastefully decorated, and not filled with plastic kid junk. (Even the kid toys were attractive wooden train equipment.) I would highly recommend; we were so relieved when we found their home on SH, and also relieved when we arrived and it was just as good as it looked.

We had a wonderful time in the very nice house of Scott and Margot. Everything in the house was well-designed and practical, with top-end appliances. The house is in a quiet neighborhood, at walking distance of a beautiful park and arboretum, and close to everything. We definitely recommend this place for anyone who want to visit Seattle. We are so happy with our stay in this beautiful house! Scott and Margot are the best imaginable hosts, they had really thought of everything, and all communication with them was super smooth. The house is gorgeous, the neighbourhood is quiet and calm and conveniently close not only to the University of Washington but to gems like the Arboretum and Madison Beach. Coming back to Seattle, we wouldn't want to go anywhere else! Excellent Frida 9/3/2018 12:47:00 PM
We loved staying in Margot and Scott's house. The interior was lovely, the garden was shady and serene, and the neighborhood was quiet and friendly. We stayed for a month and found Margot and Scott easy to work with, accommodating any needs that came up quickly and politely. They were considerate hosts and we thoroughly enjoyed staying in their home. Excellent Marianna Wickman 2/11/2018 10:08:00 PM
This is a beautiful house in a great district of Seattle, just a few blocks from Washington Park and the Arboretum. There is a sunny front yard for reading and its in a very quiet neighborhood. Scott and Margot left the house stocked with plenty of excellent coffee and instructions on how to walk to the local grocery. They were very helpful in setting up dates and even allowed me to alter my dates to suit a changing work schedule. The house is a delightful craftsman with lots of period charm and furnishings and I found it absurdly clean and tidy. It was a fantastic place to work, has a nice kitchen in which to make meals and all around a perfect way to experience Seattle. I highly recommend the house and the owners.
