Two bedroom heritage home in Seddon village - just 8 mins to Melbourne CBD

Built in the 1890s, this two-bedroom weatherboard house is a classic Victorian home, complete with recently re-polished floorboards, original features and high ceilings. Both bedrooms have fireplaces, ceiling fans and large built-in wardrobes with full-length mirrors. The house also has a homely living room (with two large sofas, plenty of book shelves and an efficient gas wall heater), a modern kitchen (with dishwasher, microwave, gas oven and cook top), small laundry room (with washing machine) and bathroom (with shower and small bath).

The front bedroom is set up as a study with an old dark wood desk. There is also a sofa bed that can be used if necessary. This makes the home ideal for those who may need to study or work at home, and may also have occasional visitors.

The house has solar panels, so there will not be any electricity bills.*

The long back garden includes three established vegetable patch boxes, which are ideal for home-grown vegetables. The front and back gardens are low maintenance.

Entertaining and dining out are an easy and close option. Only two minutes walk is the heart of Seddon village. Seddon village has many fantastic cafes and restaurants, a boutique Italian and standard supermarket, wine stores, a pub and bars. A short 15 minute walk to Yarraville will take you to another lot of great restaurants and the famous, art deco Sun cinema. Ten minutes walk in the other direction is multicultural Footscray with a lively and cheap food market, as well large supermarkets and shops. Fifteen minutes by car or train will take you to the historic seaside suburb of Williamstown and its beautiful beach and harbour.

Public transport is a perfect option from nearby transport hubs. Only three minutes walk away is Middle Footscray train station. From there, the city is only two stops and eight minutes away by regular train. A ten minute walk in the other direction is Seddon train station, which is on a different train line. This means there are always two train lines for getting home. Buses and bike paths into the city and along the Maribyrnong river are also a short walk.

Melbourne University Parkville campus, RMIT city campus, Monash Parkville campus, Victoria University city campuses, as well as the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Royal Children’s Hospital and many of the medical institutes can all be reached in 15-25 minutes by public transport or by bicycle. Victoria University Nicholson and Footscray campuses, the Western Hospital are walking distance.
