Striking Georgian house with enclosed garden in quiet heritage zone, Central London/SouthBank (great walkability/public transport)

This grade-II listed Georgian home sits in a charming conservation area often featured in films (the new James Bond one, most recently), and the location is both quiet and uncannily central. Within 15 minutes' walk--usually over or along the Thames River--are Covent Garden, St. Paul's, Tate Modern, LSE, St. Thomas' Hospital, King's College London, National Theatre, Old/Young Vic, BFI, Southbank, and Borough Market. Connectivity to the rest of London is just as brilliant because Waterloo Station, three blocks away, has five (!) tube lines and buses going pretty much everywhere. British Museum, SOAS, Birkbeck, UCL, Guys Hospital, Bloomsbury, City, and the British Library are all within 20 minutes.
The house itself has a double-sized, art-filled living room; two bedrooms (one outfitted as a study with garden overlook); and a light-drenched kitchen/dining space where a long table sits in a vaulted glass conservatory. (That table is also a great place to write.) The conservatory door leads out to an enclosed garden where, in season, you can dine amid roses, acanthus, and jasmine.
Although the heritage zone is peaceful (no buses, barely any car traffic), five minutes on foot brings you to great restaurants, bars, and coffee shops; all those great London theatres (fringier ones too); and the ever-changing cultural and food happenings of Southbank. (Our block alone hosts a boutique British bakery, an iconic pub, an old-fashioned Italian barber, kind neighbors, and a procession of Citroens a la Roland Barthes, while an airy, well-equipped gym across from the back garden door.)
