We booked this home for two months to visit our little granddaughter in northwest DC. The location in Takoma Park was within walking distance, plus it was in a lovely neighborhood, in a charming little town. The home had vintage warmth and was both inviting and comfortable, with beautiful windows that brought the outside in. We loved the back dining area that overlooked the garden, perfect for morning coffee, all meals, and for quilting. The front room was also open to the outdoor greenery and perfect for reading and conversation. The middle room I suspect is a play room, and our little granddaughter brought some toys and made good use of that floor space. But the best part of all was the front porch, which was on the living level above the garage. Until it got too cold, and sometimes even then, we sat in the porch swing and rockers for morning coffee, afternoon happy hour, or just visiting. Also on the living level were two bedrooms and a small bathroom. Downstairs is an office/TV space and laundry and beautiful big bathroom, plus an garage area, but we used this for getting groceries and bags out of the car parked in the front drive. We rented the home primarily for us, a retired couple, and two pets, but we were able to entertain our grandchild here many mornings with some sleepovers, and even had her parents over to dinner each week. I can't imagine a better place for our time in DC. The location is even close to walking trails. We all highly recommended this little gem. And the homeowners were also charming, and accommodating and responsive. If the opportunity comes up, we would love to return! Excellent Kris 1/5/2021 2:36:00 PM
