Villa del Sol is a fully furnished, newly renovated patio home in Casa Legante, a private street in the heart of Tempe, that features the best of Valley living—comfortable and roomy interior spaces and both covered and open patios to enjoy the outdoors, all in exceptional privacy and tranquility. Villa del Sol is close to everything important—Sky Harbor, Arizona State University, the Tempe and Phoenix business districts, the vibrant Mill Avenue restaurant scene, Scottsdale shopping, highways, and public transit.

The interior of the home is a spacious 1800 square feet, furnished and decorated in Southwestern/Mission style: large living room with reclining leather sofa and chairs, separate dining room, eating space in the fully equipped kitchen, master bedroom suite, second queen bedroom with adjacent bath, office/study, plenty of storage, and two-car garage. There is ample dishware, cookware, and silverware in the kitchen and all necessary linens for the bedrooms, baths, and pool. High speed WiFi throughout the property and the desk/printer station in the office make working from home, whether indoors or out, convenient and pleasant.

Villa del Sol is ideally suited for Arizona outdoor living and entertaining. Large sliding glass doors lead from the dining room, living room, and master bedroom to an additional 900 square feet of covered patio, including an outdoor kitchen and dining area, all enclosed by a privacy wall. There is a second uncovered walled patio in front of the house. Enjoy morning sun on the front patio, afternoon shade on the covered rear patio, or set across the street and lounge by the large pool and ramada at any time.

In addition to its convenient location near Rural Road, Villa del Sol is peaceful, quiet, and secure, as there is no through traffic. The front entrance and walled yard have locked gates for peace of mind; the exterior is attractively landscaped with desert plants, using xeriscape principles. Immediately across from the property is the large pool and ramada. Given the small size of the Casa Legante neighborhood, it is not uncommon to find that you have the pool facilities, which include rest rooms, to yourself. Whether sitting on the patios or at the pool, you are more likely to hear birds singing than traffic noise.

Centrally located, Villa del Sol is two blocks north of the Superstition Freeway (the 60). Sky Harbor is only 10 minutes away, whether via the 60 and I-10 or the Red Mountain Freeway (the 202). It takes less than 5 minutes to reach the I-10, the Price Freeway (the 101), or the 202 and, from there, access any of the Phoenix Valley’s other communities and abundant recreation opportunities.

ASU’s main campus is 3 miles north of Villa del Sol, connected by public transit, and the ASU Research Park lies 4 miles to the south. Major Valley business and tech centers, such as Skysong, are close by, as is Mesa Community College. The Tempe Center for the Arts, ASU’s Gammage Auditorium, and the Mesa Arts Center provide ready access to performances of all kinds. Recreation abounds—Tempe Town Lake and Beach Park and the Kiwanis park and golf course are both minutes away, and South Mountain hiking trails are nearby. Walking and biking paths radiate from Tempe in every direction.

Closer to home, Villa del Sol is within walking distance of the excellent facilities of the Tempe Public Library complex, which includes a museum, arts center, and recreation center. Shopping, including a Fry’s supermarket, CVS drugstore, and Walmart, is three blocks away.

Villa del Sol also is convenient to multiple public transportation options. There is a Valley Metro bus stop within a block that connects to the Valley Metro light rail. The free Tempe Orbit buses stop at the Library; the Jupiter route goes directly to the ASU campus.

Villa del Sol is strictly a non-smoking, pet-free property.

Detailed home description:

Front entrance: There is an entry courtyard secured with a Mission-style gate. The courtyard adds light to the center of the house and leads to an architecturally unique front door; there is also a side door from the courtyard to the garage.

Living room: A leather recliner sofa, two matching leather recliners, and Mission-style coffee and end tables provide comfort whether watching the flat screen TV, visiting, working, or reading. There is an overhead fan for warm weather and plush throws for cool desert nights. An oversize sliding glass door leads to patio seating. The WiFi router is in the living room, providing a strong signal throughout the house and patios.

Dining room: The dining room table seats up to 8 on sturdy, comfortable chairs. The sideboard has placemats, napkins, and cutlery, and there is a wine rack to keep your favorite bottles close by. A sliding door leads to an outdoor dining table on the covered patio.

Kitchen: Fully equipped with easy-to-clean T-Fal cookware and numerous countertop appliances—coffeemaker, hot water kettle, toaster oven, can opener, mixer, blender, and more. The well-lit cooking area has everything close at hand, and there is a high-top breakfast table near the large kitchen window for a cheerful start to the day.

Master bedroom suite: The master bedroom is furnished with a unique queen four-poster bed, with matching dresser and bedside tables, plus a second dresser providing ample storage space. A sliding glass door gives access to the rear covered patio. The ensuite bathroom features two sinks, a dressing table, and a walk-in shower; between the bedroom and bathroom is a large closet.

Second bedroom: At the front of the house, the second bedroom has a queen bed, armoire, and a blanket chest/seat; the bathroom is immediately adjacent. The large arched window looks out on the front patio and the specimen date palm.

Office/study: Between the two bedrooms is a study that serves well as a work-from-home office. The desk sits next to a large window, giving ample natural light to the workspace, and there is an adjacent printer station. The sofa is a comfortable place for reading and converts to a full-size bed.

Rear patio: The L-shaped covered patio is tiled to match the house tile, with overhead fans and recessed lighting. There is a skylight over the outdoor dining table and a soothing water fountain. The outdoor kitchen is under a pergola and features a propane grill and two side burners.

Front patio: Morning light warms the front patio, with its view of the pool and ramada. Enjoy coffee at the start of the day while listening to birds singing.

Garage: The two-car garage contains the washer and dryer and a work bench.

Ted was an excellent, attentive host. We stayed for three months and really appreciated his communicativeness and the help of his nephew who was in town whenever we had any minor issues.
