WONDERFULLY CHARMING fully renovated LARGE 4 bdrm VICTORIAN in the heart of Toronto's most interesting neighborhoods.
Beautiful, charming 3-story Victorian, right in the heart of the most interesting neighborhood in Toronto. From the house it's just a couple block walk to the galleries and shops of West Queen St. West and the great restaurants of Ossington and Little Italy. The streetcar line is also right at the corner for jaunts downtown or to High Park.
The house itself has 11-12 foot ceilings in most rooms, beautiful stained glass in the living room and master bedroom, wooden floors, exposed brick walls, a country kitchen. Has a great sense of space for a city house, with a small lovely backyard and patio overhung by a lush grape arbor from which we make our own wine in the fall (and a climbing wall, sandbox and fort for kids). Because the house is backed by a quiet unused lane, there's a sense of repose and calm -- a little bit of country -- rare to find right in the heart of the city. (There's also wireless internet throughout the house -- and out on the patio too) .
We're on the edge of what is known as Beaconsfield Village/Little Portugal, an area with lots of old houses full of charm and character. Just down the street (about two blocks) is the heart of the gallery and design district. Up the street about the same distance Little Italy begins. You can easily walk, bike or take the streetcar to Chinatown or Kensington Market, the AGO, or up to U. of Toronto. Just around the corner is Ossington Ave, with an incredible array of some of the best restaurants in the entire city. I don't think there is a more lively, intriguing neighborhood around.
