Sunny 2-3 bedroom apartment overlooking canal between Accademia and Guggenheim

This is beautiful, elegantly furnished apartment on the second floor (third American) of a beautiful corner palace overlooking the Canale di San Vio, in one of Venice's most sought-after neighbourhoods, only few minutes from the Accademia and the Guggenheim Collection, on the same Fondamenta as Palazzo Cini. Situated between the Grand Canal and the Zattere, close to shops and excellent restaurants, including one of the best cicchetti bars of the entire city. With windows on three sides, the apartment is also extremely airy and full of natural light.

The apartment has lots of period features: rare Venetian marble flooring, beautiful classic furniture and paintings, rare old photographs. It is accessed by its own dedicated door and staircase (c. 30 steps). A large entrance hall leads to a spacious and light living room with two windows with Juliet balconies overlooking the Canale di San Vio. A large dine-in kitchen has a dining table comfortably seating 8 people. The flat has two double-bedrooms (one of which overlooks the canal) and a newly refurbished bathroom with shower. A third bedroom with bunkbeds can be used at a small extra cost. There is air-conditioning in the living room, which also benefits the main bedroom. The TV has satellite connection with all the main world-wide programmes (BBC, CNN, etc.) There is no telephone landline but there is WIFI.

The museums are only a five minutes' walk away, yet the area is tranquil, ideal for relaxation or as a writing retreat. It is also serviced by excellent shops, it has a nearby supermarket, and a small fish and vegetable market (about 10 minutes' walk, in Campo Santa Margherita) and, if you want to exercise after all that eating, a gym within 5 minutes (www.palestraclubdelfino.com). The ferry (vaporetto) stops of the Accademia and the Zattere are round the corner.

The minimum rental period is two weeks. The rent is negotiable for stays of three weeks or longer. For short stays at Christmas, Carnival, Easter, the Redentore weekend in July, the Biennale opening period (early June) and the Festival del Cinema period (late-August/early September), the weekly charge will be 1000 Euros, but again the rent is negotiable for longer stays.

Cleaning can be arranged on demand and at extra cost.

I have just returned from spending three weeks at Filippo's apartment in Venice. This is the third time that I have rented his apartment and the experience just gets better each time. The apartment is spacious and extremely comfortable. It is exactly as described------I would say more a home than a rented apartment. One can easily feel completely at ease and adopt the Venetian lifestyle while there. Dorsoduro, the sestiere in which the apartment is located is quiet, beautiful, convenient to many important museums, churches, restaurants, and situated on one of the most BEAUTIFUL canals in Venice. The apartment's kitchen is a real Italian kitchen-----the heart of the house with two large window onto a wonderful garden------which is a rarity in Venice and endlessly fascinating. If you want a true Venetian experience this apartment will not fail to deliver. Thank you Renzo and Filippo for making this adventure possible. Excellent evelyn 6/11/2017 8:34:00 PM
Situated in a wonderful area, this apartment boasts the most interesting terrazzo marble floors in the city, a good hot modern shower, a lovely big kitchen, and a splendid view of the canal from the living room and main bedroom. Joined by my coauthor for one week to work on our forthcoming novel set in Renaissance Venice, I stayed on for an entire month and didn't want to leave! The apartment didn't have wireless, but we were given internet access with a USB key which worked beautifully. A stone's throw from the Accademia and the Peggy Guggenheim, the apartment is close to everything but just enough off the beaten track to give the feeling of living like a real Venetian. Easy access to San Marco and beyond via vaporetto, the Accademia Bridge or better yet, the traghetto (gondola ferry) located just before the Salute church. The grocery store was a short walk away along the Zattere - a beautiful walk anytime but especially at sunset. Be sure to stop on your way back at the marvelous Al Bottegon for a before dinner Cichetti and Spritz - a great place to buy wine too. For morning coffee, be sure to stop at Gino's which has to be the friendliest place for coffee in all of Venice. Can't wait to go back again! cheers, Janice http://sidewalkartist.blogspot.ca/ Excellent Janice 5/19/2013 9:18:00 AM
Thank you Renzo + Filippo for a very nice stay in your apartment. We had a wonderful time in Venice, made even better by your hospitality.

We look forward to seeing you again for the next Biennale.

Thank you for having us stay at your apartment. We had the most wonderful time and the location couldn't have been better. In some small way it felt like we were part of the daily life in Venice and less like tourists. The terrazzo floors, antiques and the view, shopping and cooking in the kitchen added to this feeling. It was nice having help to settle in. Jenny Excellent Jen 6/8/2010 8:33:00 PM
