We are looking for a single person or a couple without children to rent our recently renovated and furnished 1-bedroom apartment in the Chastleton (16th and R St) while we are doing research abroad. The apartment in on the seventh floor with southern exposure and a view of the Washington Monument.
The Chastleton is a recently renovated and extremely well-managed classical Washington building. (It is featured in James Goode's "Best Address" and was once the home of Ms. Wallis Simpson before she became the Duchess of Windsor, and of General Douglas MacArthur.) It has an ideal Dupont location, with a walk to restaurants, 2 metros, WholeFoods, Trader Joes, Safeway, and more. Amenities include: fitness room, ballroom, courtyard (with new gas grill) and roof deck w/great views.
Our parking space in the building’s gated parking lot is available for below market (and building) rental fee.
If we cannot find somebody for the whole period, we could rent it for a minimum of six months, according to the coop rules.
The rent is $1800 per month, which includes all utilities (water, electricity, private heat and air, high-speed internet, and cable).
