About Me
Professor of Geophysics at Victoria University. I have worked here for 26 years but prior to that has post-doc experience at Cornell and Stanford Universities in the USA(1986-89). I have had a sabbatical visits to USC in Los Angeles , where I took my whole family for 12months. I have also had sabbaticals to U of Colorado (Boulder), Oxford University, and Leeds U ( UK). During our sabbatical visits we always took the opportunity to explore, climb and ski in the countries we visited. I have been a member of the New Zealand Alpine club for 40 years and continue to pursue alpine activities whenever I can. Part of my research extends to Antarctica and the profile image shows me on the left with two of my students arriving there last austral summer.

I had a wonderful stay in this one bedroom Kelburn flat. It is fully furnished and in a wonderful location, especially for getting to Vic. There is a bus stop right outside the front of the place that can get you to other parts of town. I especially enjoyed the backyard space, which is secluded with views peaking into the harbour. The flat is enough space for a couple and more than enough for one person. Everything was very clean and much of the space has been recently updated. The hosts are very kind and extremely accommodating. From correspondence before arriving, to my actual stay, to departure, they were more than helpful. They are also just very interesting people with incredible stories from their work and travels. I would 100% stay here again if the opportunity presented itself. If you are considering a long-term stay in Wellington, I highly recommend this flat. Excellent Brynn Johnson 4/12/2020 9:52:00 PM
