Open, airy, light-filled 4-bedroom house (one currently used as an office) with spectacular, 180-degree views of Long Island Sound. Located in the West Shore neighborhood of West Haven, CT-- 15 minutes from New Haven and Yale--the house features a large Sound-facing deck, bay windows, and window seats, an open plan living room, dining room, and kitchen, and driveway parking. The wide, sandy, almost unknown and barely populated West Haven beaches are a mere 7-minute walk (or 2-minute drive) down the hill. This is an unsually comfortable and well-set and located house. The first couple of pictures are of the living room, then the dining room, then the deck. Then the main upstairs bedroom (king bed), the downstairs bedroom (queen bed), the upstairs study, and the very large bedroom upstairs with a king bed and a twin. There are two baths upstairs, one downstairs. (Two bathtubs, and one walk in shower stall.) On site parking in the 2-car driveway. Available late December 2024 through April 30, 2025. We are looking for a 4-month rental, possibly a little less, possibly a little more. The house is also available July 20 - August 5, for $2,000 per week. There is a downstairs apartment, with its own entrance, and a renter who keeps to himself, and uses the lower deck, which he has transformed into a deck garden. There are three bedrooms upstairs, one with an ensuite bathroom, and one of which, with a Sound view, currently being used as a study. The third bedroom is extremely large, and has a small balcony overlooking the front yard and garden. There is a fourth bedroom on the ground floor, where there is also a full bath. The two-car garage is for your exclusive use, and has plenty of storage space as well. While there are no reviews on this site, the house has been rented continuously since January 2021, first by a retired academic couple in between houses; then by summer Airbnb tenants, then by a family of three: grandmother, working mother, and toddler, for 9 months, and by two different Airbnb folks this past summer. Comments: We're open to a discount depending on your plans. Feel free to query us.
Comments: This is not only an easy house to live in--it's a delight. And that's what renters have told us. It's spacious and airy, convenient to shopping and the beach. A toddler lived here all last school year.
We would like you to water the house plants and the garden when it's very hot.
Comments: There is a tiny lawn that takes 5 minutes to mow with a reel mower. We'd be grateful if you'd do that every other week or so. We have an excellent handyman who lives across the street and knows the house well.
