Sunny Spacious Apartment 20 minutes from Midtown Manhattan

With NYC skyline views, this sunny, 900 sf (85 m2) apartment is ideally located for work or vacation in and around NYC, and for work at home during COVID. The apartment has ample storage space and is perfect for a couple, small family, or a work-at-home individual who wishes to have easy access to Manhattan, but who wants more space and wants to leave behind the Manhattan prices. Recent tenants (on sabbatical in NYC) enrolled their kids in the local public school for their stay with us and were very satisfied.

**RE: transport during COVID** You can get to NYC easily without having to enter any trains or buses by taking the ferry from Weehawken to the east side of Manhattan. You can also get into the city by bus. Running 24 hours a day, 7 days per week, buses make the short commute to Times Square and all major subways in about 20 minutes (significantly less time than required to get to the same spot from Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, or even uptown Manhattan).

Located on the fourth-floor of a post-War building, the apartment has windows on three sides (making it open, sunny, and breezy), and views of the NYC skyline. It has a large, eat-in kitchen with granite counter tops and floor to ceiling wooden cupboards, new appliances, including dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave and stove/oven. The bedrooms and living room have hard wood floors, and four very large closets, and are beautifully furnished (one queen size bed, one twin bed, one high quality, comfortable sofa bed that can sleep two more)

The apartment is located in a well-kept building with live-in superintendent, security cameras, bicycle storage space, in-building laundry facilities. There are restaurants, two supermarkets, banks, bakeries, liquor store, and a host of other amenities within 2 blocks of the apartment. For an additional $50/month, tenants can use large basement storage facility (approximately 10 ft x 6 ft x 5ft).

West New York is a diverse and walkable urban community located on the west side of the Hudson River (in New Jersey), directly across from Manhattan. Two blocks from the house, Boulevard East provides breathtaking views of Manhattan, and the New York harbor, while making for a great spot for jogging or strolling. To the north is James J. Braddock North Hudson Park, a 167-acre (68 ha) clifftop park with 45 sports facilities, trails & dog run.

You don't need a car to live here! And this is an affordable way to conduct your sabbatical or other business in and around NYC!

About Me
My wife was born in Barbados, and I have dual US and Italian citizenship. We both spent most of our formative years in the New York Metropolitan area, but have lived in Philadelphia since I joined the faculty of the Department of Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering at Drexel University in 2007. At Drexel, I direct the Sustainable Water Resource Engineering lab where I study urban sustainability, urban ecosystems, and urban greening initiatives. I have my own private practice based in New York City, through which I also work in these same areas as a practitioner. My wife is trained in journalism, but has worked extensively in the non-profit sector with experience in both social and environmental fields. My work has taken me in recent years to places like Haiti, Ethiopia, and Italy. With our three kids, my wife and I also enjoy travel for pleasure. Our travel goal is to see new places, and really get to know the people of the place, by staying (mostly) away from the touristy spots and instead immersing ourselves in the local culture. We enjoy historically, culturally, naturally rich and vibrant places.

Wonderful apartment, extremely convenient to NYC. Franco is a great host. Affordable and well-sized. Highly recommend. Excellent Chiara 8/24/2018 1:13:00 PM
I had only good experiences with this wonderful flat. It is 30 min. from Port Authority, and buses are running all night long. It has an incredible view on Manhattan's skyline, the Empire State Building and even the One World Trade Center. As the living room opens to one of the two sleeping rooms, it makes the whole apartment very spacious and you have a lot of sun from three sides. We loved the area with all its hispanic restaurants, fresh fruits and vegetables. Franco was a perfect landlord; he was attentive to all my queries (from a broken window to recommendations for restaurants) thus he made our 6-months stay really enjoyable. I also felt very safe in the building; it has a very reliable super. Therefore: I would always come back here! Excellent Lara 8/26/2016 12:37:00 PM
