Wonderful 4 BR home in boutique Yarraville. Great for families. Opposite quiet park.

Enjoy your sabbatical in the village of Yarraville (named the fifth coolest neighbourhood in the world by TimeOut), living directly opposite local parkland and a golf course, and only 12 mins from Melbourne's CBD. Our spacious, sunny, modern four bedroom, two-storey townhouse provides convenient inner city living overlooking wide expanses of green leafy views.

What does our area offer?
Yarraville Village is a leafy inner Melbourne suburb popular with professionals and families and home to beautifully refurbished Edwardian and Victorian shopfronts with a great selection of cafes, restaurants and boutique shops, bookstores as well as the famous art-deco Sun Theatre.

Within very easy and quick reach of Melbourne city centre, Yarraville offers convenient inner city living in a highly sought-after village atmosphere.

Our house is walking distance to Yarraville village and Yarraville train station which provides quick access to Melbourne CBD, Melbourne University, Victoria University, RMIT University, Australian Catholic University, St Vincent’s Hospital, Western Hospital, etc.

Less than ten minutes by car to neighbouring Newport and Williamstown (beach and bayside), Seddon (continental supermarket, cafes and bakers), Footscray (wonderful selection of restaurants reflecting Melbourne’s multiculturalism), and the fabulous Queen Victoria Markets.

We came for a year but stayed for five!

We found Yarraville by chance but fell in love with it the moment we have arrived and have now made the inner west our home. Whilst Yarraville (recently named 5th coolest suburb in the world by Time Out!) kept us in the West, it was really Stuart and Anita who kept us where we were. They have been the best landlords we could have hoped for. The house was equipped with everything we needed, which was handy as we arrived with only what was in our suitcases. Our children were 2,6 and 8 but we found we had ample room for all of us. There is garden big enough to entertain and just across the road is a small park with play equipment and green space, in which our kids have played for countless hours and where we’ve held birthday parties, BBQs and much more. They have all enjoyed their time and one of the local public schools and have taken advantage of the great range of sporting activities available here.

Yarraville is less than 10 minutes’ walk away and boasts great restaurants, bars and cafes. The city centre can be reached by a 16 minute train ride and there a good road connections that make most areas accessible. However, what we’ve really loved about Yarraville was how much of a friendly and welcoming place it is. Even though we’re only moving a few KM away, we’ll still be sad to go. However, we can’t wait to invite Anita and Stuart to our new home, now just as friends!

We found this property using Sabbatical Homes and moved to Melbourne in January 2014 sight unseen. Our family of five - children aged 2, 5 and 7 whenw e moved - relocated so both adults could do post-doc research at the University of Melbourne. From the very first day of our 18 month stay in this amazing home, we have felt lucky! The property is spacious but cozy, very well-located, especially if, like us, you dont have a car. It is quiet despite its central location, and the garden is perfect size - and for the kids it was true bonus that the property is at the end of a cul-de-sacand right across the street from an open green space they can use for playing footy! The location is just about perfect for Melbourne, lovely Yarraville with lots of good restaurants and cafes, and the metro, within a 10 minute walk, lovely parks and 2 good public primary schools in walking distance, still within a very easy commute from the Uni and the CBD. The pictures do not do the place justice, it is even nicer than it looks. And the owners are fantastic, from day one they made our stay easy, and were so kind.
