Small room available in cosy terraced Edwardian house
We offer a space for a third person to share our quiet vegetarian household in a house with original features in a friendly street close to small shops, cafés and bus routes. We're a stone's throw from Alfred Hitchcock's birth place. Up the road is open space (Wanstead Flats) with a pond.
We try to maintain a lovely front garden and we're working on the back one. The room is furnished and attractive.
The house has a baby grand piano, cello, guitar, recorders, loads of books, DVDs and an open fireplace. The interests of the two current residents include psychotherapy, gardening, wholefood cooking, parenting, investigative research (in between cups of coffee), writing books and articles, reading, poetry performance, art, singing, walking, social justice and community involvement. We do laugh as well! (Private Eye satirical magazine often lies around). We have links with local groups such as the historical society.
This is more than renting a cheap room. We are interested in each other’s lives and projects, and support each other. We eat together most evenings at the moment, due to so many evening places being closed, usually talk a lot after our meal and sometimes are joined by friends when Covid allows. We share the house cleaning. No pets.
It might be possible for a therapist or counsellor to use the front downstairs room for a few sessions a week or to use the room for small meetings, interviews etc.
