My husband & I are professors who just retired early to relocate to Marin Co., where I grew up. We are updating our home there and hoping to house-sit (or live-in pet-sit) in the area during the remodeling.
Our dates are flexible, extending over the summer (we arrive in early May, so could begin as early as May 10). We'll be with our quiet 19 year old, so need space for three. All three of us are responsible non-smokers who love animals. We've always had pets (cats, dogs & fish as adults and hamsters, rabbits, chickens, & a horse growing up). We are vaccinated, COVID-19 conscious, & will treat your home and pet with the care we give our own home/pet. (Note: We have a well-behaved 10 -year-old cat we'd like to have with us, though we may be able to house her with relatives during the house-sitting if having her with us is not possible).
More on us: I enjoy caring for plants and gardening (I worked part-time in plant stores while in college). My husband is great at addressing unexpected minor household glitches (though knows his limits/when to call a professional). We both enjoy travel, hiking, bicycling, and reading. We've had a lot of experience caring for friends' homes and pets and exchanging homes (& pet/plant care) via sabbaticalhomes.com.
