REFERENCING LISTING # 129966 (Peaceful Mid-Century Modern ...) This is a beautiful house in a lovely, quiet, treed neighborhood. I especially like the high ceiling with visible timbers and clerestory windows over the living room and kitchen. The plate glass windows and sliding doors let in plenty of light. I enjoyed sitting with my morning cup of coffee, looking out the large windows, and seeing the occasional deer wander by. The kitchen is well-equipped and good sized. In fact, the house is well-equipped in general, with towels, sheets, two dining tables, and a library of classic books. I was staying by myself, and the house felt spacious for one person. It was useful to have my own car to get to stores and the Huntington Library. Victoria and Stephen were kind, helpful hosts. I highly recommend the house. Excellent PGH 4/30/2020 8:09:00 AM
It is a lovely place to stay, and the location is excellent for the Huntington and Cal Tech. Close to the Metro, a small downtown with restaurants, and really close to Trader Joe's for groceries. Highly recommended, and Victoria was a great hostess Excellent Anna Marie 12/14/2017 5:23:00 AM
I stayed in Victoria's cozy guesthouse for 5 months in late 2016 and early 2017. I highly recommend both Victoria as a host, as she is thoughtful, helpful and friendly and goes out of her way to make you feel comfortable. The room is well-equipped, the lovely backyard is a nice place to hang out, and the location, near a hip South Pasadena town center, the Metro, library, etc., could not be nicer and more convenient. If ever needed, I would stay again without hesitation. Excellent David O 4/11/2017 12:25:00 PM
This is a wonderful place to stay. Victoria is a terrific host. Both the house and neighborhood are lovely, and everything is convenient. I would definitely stay there again, and recommend to people looking for a quiet [apart from charming wild parrots] place to stay and work. Excellent FakeCanadian 6/11/2015 5:41:00 PM
This was a marvellous base for four months at the Huntington, beautifully designed, comfortable, and peaceful. Everything you need is there. Victoria is an ideal host, helpful and unobtrusive, so that you feel welcome but also independent. There is a private entrance and use of the garden is a great bonus. And there is a friendly dog. South Pasadena is fantastic for visitors. You can walk to Trader Joe's, excellent cafés, restaurants, used book store and galleries while the metro takes you to Old Pasadena bars or downtown LA. The energetic can get to the Huntington on public transport although I had a car most of the time. I hope to return and I thoroughly recommend it. Thank you Victoria.
