Incoming Cornell Faculty Looking for a Place for the 2020-2021 Academic Year

I'm an incoming faculty member at Cornell University. My spouse (a mental health therapist) and I have been homeowners and are planning to eventually buy in Ithaca. We'd like to get to know the area before buying, and are looking for a place to stay for the 2020-2021 academic year. We'll likely be moving in early to mid August.

In terms of location, I'd enjoy being able to walk to campus but that's not a requirement. We'd like to avoid Collegetown, but could potentially be convinced for an especially good situation. We'd prefer a place that's relatively new or recently renovated with somewhere between 800-2000 square feet, a washer, dryer, and dishwasher, and covered parking. As we're planning to buy in about a year, we'd like to keep costs reasonable, preferably about $1800 max but we might be open to paying a little more for an especially nice place and/or exceptional location.

We're quiet, clean, and responsible people who don't smoke and rarely drink. We don't have any children or pets. For fun we enjoy hiking, reading, board games, and going out to eat.
