Alec and Mary moved to the East Side of Providence over 20 years ago from Cambridge, MA. Being a preservation carpenter and sailor, Mary an artist and gardener, it was a perfect fit. We're active in our Community Garden, we've planted over 100 street trees, we keep bees and enjoy all the activities the area has to offer, from Waterfire to a day at the beach. We have travelled and lived in Europe, mostly England, Scotland and France.

This historic Providence home is fantastic - the place itself, the location, the view, the landlords (Alec and Mary - superstars), PLUS a parking place. The minute you step into the immaculate second floor apartment, you will feel comfortable (appropriate upgrades), but awed by the care taken in preserving the 1902 architecture. We did not want to leave when our stay was up. So easy to get anywhere from the house, but it is also a quiet neighborhood for study, work, or relaxing if you are home.
