Maria is a lovely host. She is delightful to converse with and has such a great energy. The flat is ideally located between multiple tube lines for easy access. The place also has all the basic necessities. I am already planning my return!

I've been totally satisfied with my stay. The flat is fully self-contained and private, with a separate ground-floor entrance in a lovely garden. It's a compact space nicely arranged for one or two people. Everythings you'll need is there: pots, dishes, washer, comfortable bed, reliable wifi, etc, etc.

The location is a quiet residential neighborhood of leafy streets. Lots of nice shops, cafes, restaurants nearby. Within a 10 min walk to five different tube stations that will take you anywhere in London. And you can be a tourist right in the neighborhood: the Freud Museum, John Keats house, Hampstead Heath are all an easy walk away.

Finally, Maria is an exceptionally thoughtful host: she's there to help, but she respects your privacy.

We highly recommend this lovely garden flat. Maria is a welcoming, kind and considerate hostess. Our stay was extended by almost a year due to the pandemic, 2021/2022. A quiet neighbourhood with very good transport links, supermarkets and restaurants, all within a 15 minute walk. A homely flat, with functional kitchenette, great shower, and comfortable bed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would be very happy to return.

My husband and I spent two weeks in June this year in Joao and Maria's lovely flat, which not only had everything we could possibly need but was also wonderfully located, close to all amenities and only a ten minute walk away from the underground and a supermarket. The flat is part of a house that is set in a beautiful large garden with trees and roses. Maria was wonderfully kind and helpful with practical matters as well as advice on places to visit. We loved our stay in every possible way and look forward to returning sometime soon!

Maria and João are fantastic hosts, very attentive, welcoming and available at any time, even when they were in Portugal! The flat is very nice, comfortable and clean. It is well furnished, decorated with charm and perfectly equipped (kitchen, bed linen, towels…). As we stayed there between April and June, we really enjoyed the beautiful and peaceful garden -plenty of flowers, birds and squirrels- and very well kept. As other tenants have already mentioned, the neighbourhood is charming. Staying in Monjardino’s flat gave us the opportunity to discover Hampstead Heath, with its village lifestyle and its cosy shops and restaurants. There is a convenience store 5 minutes and a big supermarket 10-15 minutes walk away. The flat is very well communicated, with two tube stations (Swiss Cottage, Belsize Park) and close to bus lines. We have rented other apartments in London before and we found this one was the best we ever had. We would be happy to repeat the experience if we had the opportunity. Thank you, Maria and João!

We found this flat inviting and charming, well equipped, very comfortable and extremely convenient. It had everything we needed. The lovingly tended garden just outside the flat was heavenly. Maria and Joao are the perfect hosts - extremely welcoming and available if needed. The location and surroundings are ideal. It is in a delightful neighbourhood, with convenient access to public transport and shops. Hampstead Heath and Primrose Hill are within comfortable walking distance. An additional bonus for us was the close proximity to family, only a few minutes' walk away. We certainly hope to have the good fortune to stay there again. Highly recommended!

We had a truly wonderful two-month stay in Maria and Joao Monjardino's flat in summer 2016. The flat is beautifully laid out and very comfortable for two adults and one child; the kitchen is also fully equipped (oven, stove, toaster, kettle, microwave, washing machine, etc.). The surroundings are ideal -- there is a large, lovely garden just outside the flat, and it is a short walk to Hampstead, Belsize Park, the Heath, etc. The location is ideal for public transit most anywhere in London (and especially good for the British Library and the National Archives). One could not hope for kinder and more gracious hosts than the Monjardinos. We hope to have the chance to stay here again!

On a 3 month sabbatical from France earlier this year, I had the pleasure of living in this flat owned by Maria and Joao Monjardino in Hampstead. The Monjardinos were splendid hosts, always ready to give advice and fix the occasional problem but at all times staying discrete and unintrusive. A really kind and helpful couple. I heartily recommend this flat to future residents.

I highly recommend this flat for a short or extended stay in London. The Monjardinos are wonderful landlords--attentive and friendly, but they give you your privacy. The flat is small but extremely well laid-out--perfect for one person, good for two, and possible for shorter periods with three (the sofa folds out into a surprisingly comfortable bed). The kitchen, though tiny, is well-designed. The apartment stays very warm in the winter (I was there Jan. through the start of April), and is inviting and comfortable (though if you are very tall, be aware that the ceilings are low). The flat feels secluded and looks out to a very nice garden, even as it is centrally located--about a 10-15 minute walk to three tube stations (Swiss Cottage, Belsize Park, and Finchley Road) and also close to bus and train lines. It is also only a short walk from shopping. I would definitely stay in this flat again--it was an ideal place to live and work during my stay in London, and the price was very good considering how high London rent prices are.

I just completed one semester (14 weeks) stay at the flat, which worked out wonderfully. The flat is very well laid out and optimally furnished, so it feels larger than the 36 m2 listed here. It is located in the best neighborhoods with easy access to buses, tube and train stations. It is within short walking distance to Hampstead Heath - a great park that has so much to offer. Most importantly, the Monjardinos are great people: good landlord/landlady and even better neighbors! Highly recommended.

This is a lovely garden flat in a quiet neighborhood green with trees and wonderful gardens. I stayed here for two weeks on a research trip in August and could not have been more comfortable. The Underground (Northern Line) is a fifteen minutes walk while the Overground is about ten. Deli, bakery, off-license, restaurants, and a fruitery are less then five minutes walk away and major supermarkets are about ten minutes. Highly recommended!

The Monjardinos have a fabulous flat here - light, clean, quiet and secluded with windows looking out into the garden. The location is perfect for academics especially, with easy transit to all central London archives and the National Archives (via the Overground). I would not hesitate to recommend this place or to stay here again myself.

I needed accommodation for an academic visitor who was coming to London to work with me for 1 month. I viewed this flat and found it perfect for this, in very good condition, and it seemed to have everything one needs for a short stay. It is suitable for 1 person or for a couple. The landlord was very quick to respond and easy to deal with. Unfortunately, my visitor changed his plan and ended up not renting this flat, but I will have no hesitation coming back to this landlord on another occasion.
