Lovely spacious 1-BR w/balcony, great light, excel. location, for rent in Berlin-Charlottenburg


The apartment is newly renovated and furnished with quality and taste. The living-room facing a quiet tree-lined street has a small balcony and morning sun. The bedroom/office of equal size as the LR with a queen-size bed, desk and a completely equipped eat-in kitchen (practically a third room) face south with the sun streaming in, looking out at the building's unusually large green communal garden.

From washing- and dishwasher machines to microwave, gas-and electric stove, dishes, linens etc., everything is there and in excellent condition. Telephone, DSL, Wi-Fi, flat-screen TV and DVD - all utilities (Gas, electric and internet, etc.) are included.

The apartment is centrally located: the metro-stations Ernst Reuter-Platz and Richard Wagner Platz are nearby; the # 245 bus very close by takes five to ten minutes to Zoo, the 101 around the corner takes you to Humboldt U. Also right close by: the Technical University (TU); the University of the Arts (UdK); the opera; and just one block from the apartment the Einstein-Ufer, a lovely jogging/bicycling/walking path right by the water (the Spree and the Landwehrkanal meet here) with the Schloss Charlottenburg close by in one direction, the famous Strasse des 17. Juni and Tiergarten (Berlins Central Park) in the other; lovely Savigny-Platz and S-Bahn just a few bicycle minutes away. There's life, stores and cafes in every direction!

We are a retired school teacher and a playwright from New York City. I have frequently taught as a guest professor of playwriting at the University of the Arts (UdK) in Berlin. My husband and I plan to spend the summers in Berlin. We live and work the rest of the year in New York City. (Our Berlin apartment is available for nine to ten months of the (academic) year. # 71412)

The apartment was not just as nice as it looks at the pictures. The landlords, themselves academic-minded people, managed to create a unique balance between a stylish design providing its own atmosphere and all “modern” facilities one might need. The place is well-maintained, perfectly clean and everything works as it should. It is centrally located in Charlottenburg with convenient transportation nearby but in the same time the street is quiet, and the recently renovated building has a lovely courtyard. We enjoyed the place and found it ideally convenient for two persons. It is equipped with practically everything one might need for a comfortable long-term stay. During our academic year in Berlin we haven’t had a single problem, as the landlords have thought in advance even of the small details. My wife and I are academics with a lot of travel experience, including long-term stays in various locations throughout the world. This apartment, however, is definitely a place to which we would love to come back if we have to spend another year in Berlin. Excellent Simeon 8/21/2017 7:02:00 AM
Barbara's apartment is wonderful! very spacious, nicely decorated and in an excellent location. Additionally, it has all the amenities necessary for a comfortable stay. I spent six months in this apartment and I am very sad to leave!

Barbara has been a great landlady and very nice to deal with her.

I highly recommend this apartment!!
