The Nest: A Gorgeous Modern Studio on the Kennebec River

We are looking for a quiet person or couple to rent our beautiful riverside studio for the winter. The Nest is the smaller of two houses on the Kennebec River. The Nest is modern, simple, and spare -- the perfect place to write the great American novel, or unplug, relax, and rejuvenate. It is smallish, but light and airy and well designed with everything you need for simple and peaceful living. The bedroom is up two steps. It is bright and sunny with vaulted ceilings and looks out over the river where you will wake up to the most glorious sunrise and sleep to the moon and stars. It is simply furnished with a queen bed and a set of bookshelves to store your clothes. A step ladder next to the bed will take you up to an unfurnished loft which makes a great meditation space. The main floor has loads of windows, a well-stocked bookshelf, a comfy couch, and a table, where you can work or eat looking out to the ice flows or a bald eagle flying by. The kitchenette has a medium refrigerator, a hot plate, and a Breville oven, and all the equipment you would need to cook a meal with the gorgeous produce from the Bath Farmer's Market. The city of Bath was just named one of the 15 best small towns to visit this year by the Smithsonian Magazine, and we couldn't agree more. Just 40 minutes north of Portland and 15 minute drive to Bowdoin College in Brunswick, this historic Colonial town is home to Whiskeag Trail and Thorne Head Preserve and is near Morse Mountain and Reid State Park.
