Hi, I'm the homeowner and am renting out the main floor of my house. I live in the lower level of the house and have a separate entrance. The kitchen is shared, though I use it infrequently. I can adjust my cooking schedule to accommodate yours. Open the front door and you'll step into the entry room which leads to a sunny, tastefully furnished living room. The focal point of the living room is a fireplace that has an easy to use gas stove. The armchairs are very comfortable and it’s a great space for reading or working at a laptop. Adjoining is a family room with futon sofa that can unfold for overnight guests. This sunny room is wonderful for relaxing and watch a movie on the monitor provided. All the hardwood floors throughout the house have recently been refinished. A short hallway leads to the two bedrooms, with the bathroom located in between. The master bedroom has beautiful windows and wood paneling for a cozy and restful feeling. Watch the sunset over the Marin hills in the evening, and wake up to see the fog roll out in the morning. The bed is full sized with an excellent mattress, new carpeting, and there are custom blackout curtains. The adjoining walk in closet has a large shelving unit, clothes rod, and dresser for you to store your belonging. The second bedroom has a fresh, clean feeling. It is furnished, with full sized bed, nightstand, dresser, desk, bookshelf and rug. The closet has shelving and a clothes rod. This bedroom has two doors, one leading right to the entry of house. The other door is next to the bathroom. All bedding and towels are provided.The bathroom has custom tile and skylight. It’s a real pleasure to shower or bathe at night and enjoy the twinkling lights overhead. The heart of the house is the kitchen. The large open kitchen has plenty of room for cooking, eating and enjoying the view of the Bay including the Golden Gate and Marin. The kitchen is set up for multiple people cooking at the same time. There’s a high-end gas stove, refrigerator and dishwasher. A full assortment of pots/pans, dishes, utensils and appliances. The large dining table is great for hanging out when others are cooking. There’s a small balcony off of the kitchen, with a loveseat -- ideal to enjoy a drink and watch the sunset. As mentioned, the kitchen is the only room I access in the main floor of the house. There’s a small loft above the staircase which currently has a desk and chair in it, but can be used for a variety of purposes. The staircase leads down to the shared laundry area, as well as my private living quarters. In the back corner of the garden there are bee hives, which I attentively cared for. I have a small art studio in the backyard where I work. The house is on a one block long, quiet street tucked away in a very walkable neighborhood. It is safe to walk in the neighborhood at night. Excellent grocery stores, restaurants, parks, library and cafes all within a few blocks. Walk to Solano Avenue, Monterey Market and Hopkins Street stores, as well as King pool and running track. The Northside of Cal campus is a 30 minute walk or short bike ride away. Near multiple local bus lines. A three block walk to the AC Transit H bus line for San Francisco. Also a short walk to the North Berkeley shuttle for the Berkeley Lab. I've enjoyed sharing the house for a number of years with people usually affiliated with the University or the Lab. The ideal people to live upstairs are quiet, communicate easily, and have regular schedules. Furniture can be changed out or moved around to suit your needs. High-speed Sonic internet.
