Description

We are headed out of state from mid November 2023 to end of March/early April 2023 to be near family, and seeking a tenant who can stay in our 3200+ sq ft home and take care of our cat, Hobbes. We absolutely love our home and location. It's a warm and friendly house with great common spaces, including a huge living room and a beautiful sun room. We just completed a garage conversion, adding a brand new master bedroom and bath on the other side of the house from the three other bedrooms/office space. The house is set on a half-acre of beautiful gardens, with a lovely back patio. There's ample parking. We have an exercise bike and elliptical. The street is super-secluded - no one who doesn't live here drives on it - and feels incredibly peaceful because it's right on top of Wheaton Regional Park and full of hundred-foot trees. If you're looking for a place that feels like you're in a beautiful forest oasis, where you can take long walks in the woods and also get to a commercial center in under 10 minutes, this is it! The amenities are wonderful. Within walking distance we have: a library and community center, a metro station, three different playgrounds, Wheaton Regional Park, with 536 acres of woods and trails (plus tennis courts, a carousel, miniature train, and ice skating rink!), great Thai, Vietnamese, ramen, pupusas, a shopping mall with target, and an H-mart. You really won't find a better combination of peaceful greenery and access to a wonderful commercial area and community, And that's all just in the immediate area - downtown Silver Spring is about 12 minutes' drive, and DC is about 30 mins. More on the house - we've set the upstairs up for our family - two adults, a toddler, and an infant. Upstairs we have the new master ensuite bedroom for adults, our former ensuite bedroom which is now set up as an office/music room/guest room with a pullout couch, a toddler's room, and a nursery. Also upstairs is a great sunroom that backs to the backyard, and a living room on the other side of the house, separated by our kitchen and laundry room. Downstairs we have a guest ensuite bedroom in the basement, a kitchenette/dining room, another living room, and an exercise/storage room. There's a lot of space! If needed, it would be easy to transform the nursery into another children's room with bed or add an extra bed to the ensuite office upstairs. We have a basement with an additional workspace, as well as an exercise bike and elliptical. The upstairs was remodeled to be fully wheelchair accessible by the previous owner and includes a walk-in shower. We're prepared to discount significantly the rent from market price in order to find someone who's a good fit and who we can trust to take care of our cat, Hobbes. This worked out well for us last year, and we're hoping for a similarly positive experience!

Rental Rates and Terms

Utilities are not included

A cleaning service is not included

Comments: We estimate that our furnished house would rent for around $3500-$4000 based on the area market. We're discounting to find someone who can take care of our cat, Hobbes. You would need to pay utilities (water, gas, internet, electricity)

Considerations

The home is suitable for young kids

Ask about bringing pets

Smoking is not allowed

A car is not available

Comments: We're open to other pets if they are cat-friendly. We have a 2 year old so house is largely toddler-proofed.

House Sitting

I am looking for help while I am away

I would like help with my pet(s)

We have a Maine Coon cat, Hobbes. He's pretty independent and does not require much attention - really just feeding and turning over the electronic litter box once every two weeks. He's an indoor-outdoor cat - comes in and out through a cat door.

I would like help with mail and deliveries

Just put any mail we receive in a drawer.

Comments: We have a landscaping service that takes care of the garden so no assistance needed there.
