Oakland Acres is a custom-built garden apartment on our family property near Grand Lake, Oakland. Fully stocked, Heath-tiled open kitchen with dining nook, mid-century modern furnishings, spacious fenced yard, skylights, large windows, and a private garden under the redwoods. We’re a fifth-generation-Oakland family - Jason’s grandparents bought the historic Cleveland Heights home in the ‘50s, and we now live in the main house with our daughter Paloma, and dad Fred. We have spent the last few years building a workshop and ADU in the backyard of our home. We love having a space for long family and guest stays - and are busy landscaping the yard. Jason was born in Colorado and with his professional time designs and builds custom, handmade bicycle frames under the name Broakland. LeighAnna was born in Ohio, grew up in Kentucky, and has lived in San Francisco (now Oakland) for twenty+ years. She’s creative operations director at Airbnb. Fred grew up in the home, lived abroad for many years - and is an avid cycler and motorcycle rider, recently taking a long-haul trip to South America.
