Abro and Aliza are both recently retired from professions as a naturopathic doctor and business owner, and a therapeutic yoga teacher, respectively. We live in the upstairs area of a condo attached to one other condo. As our home is situated behind the front unit, your flat will have some distance from the street, ensuring peace and quiet. When looking out any of the many sun-filled windows, you will enjoy views of plants and trees. Please Note: we maintain a shoes-free home and require the same of our guests, so no damage comes to the flooring or carpeting. This is a fully furnished flat, hardwood maple floors throughout, save for the tiled kitchen and bathroom, and brand-new plush carpet in the large bedroom. You will enjoy fiber-optic internet, brand new kitchen and appliances, good quality linens, blankets and towels. It's all about location! This flat holds the balance of being surrounded by nature, yet only a 10-minute walk to the Gourmet Ghetto, home of the famous Chez Panisse restaurant, as well as many other restaurants and a weekly farmers market. Two blocks above us is the Berkeley Rose Garden, including three newly renovated tennis courts and amazing walking paths up into the hills. Two blocks below us is Live Oak Park with two more tennis courts. University of California, Berkeley is just a few blocks away, allowing for an enjoyable 10–15-minute walk. We have had one prior experience with renting our entire home for four months, while we traveled in Europe in 2021. We were connected to our guests through MSRI (Mathematical Sciences Research Institute). This was a good experience, and taught us that we enjoy sharing our home; we then created a lower-level flat for guests to enjoy year-round. We have lived in Berkeley for many years and know it well. We are here to offer you any support and suggestions for whatever interests you. We look forward to meeting you and introducing you to Berkeley!
