Charming, quiet basement in shared 2 1/2 storey family home owned by an academic single parent of two teenagers. My preference is for a medium-long term rental arrangement, but I am willing to discuss shorter term. Basement has separate access through the garden. You walk into a quiet, beautiful designed and fully furnished space with its own bathroom, laundry (washer and dryer), full kitchen with gas stove and fridge, microwave, coffee maker and private bedroom. Main living area has a desk and office share, futon/couch, lots of storage, kitchen. Bathroom has tub/shower combo. It isn't dark for a basement as there are windows on two sides and light comes in from upstairs. Basement is private and separate but not completely closed off from the upstairs, so this is ideal if you want privacy but don't want to feel completely isolated. Owner takes good care of home and will be responsive to any issues. Basement was fully reno'd in 2018 and is light, bright and completely flood-proof. For a short term rental it is an excellent space for two people, and there is a futon for a child (basement is not set up for a toddler). If you are lucky shy but friendly, playful and charming little barn tabby named Cinnabon, the Ruler of the House, might pop down to visit once is a while. Basement is bright and airy but ceilings are not that high so this may not be the space for you if you are very tall. Otherwise, it is very comfortable, owner's family used it as ground floor during renovation of the main house many years ago. Access to garden, close to Dufferin Grove Park, mall, shops and pharmacies, restaurants, bars and cafes, excellent TTC access, on street parking (no garage). Easy commute on TTC (Ossington Station is an 8 min walk) and easy bike ride to U of T. There is a safe space to park a bike across the street.
