Sweet Cottage House in Fall Creek

Our conveniently located Fall Creek Cottage House invites a visiting family (or other temporary house seekers) to come stay beginning summer 2024! This sweet little house is full of happy quirky character and the inside is an inviting and cozy retreat within steps of downtown. Our 1860s Cottage House may look small from the outside, but the inside is surprisingly spacious with a homey feel. The house is fully furnished and contains everything needed for comfortable living. (Furnishings can be flexible, so feel free to inquire if you are looking for a specific setup and we can try to accommodate. For example, there is a queen non-toxic mattress in one of the bedrooms, but we have the flexibility to set up the other bedroom with an organic crib mattress in a wooden crib/toddler bed, a double bed, or both(!) depending on your needs). On the main floor you will find a dining room, living room, kitchen, utility/mudroom, bathroom (with tub), and an office/study with an additional bed, if needed. The upstairs has one large bedroom and a slightly smaller bedroom with a cozy sleeping alcove. There is a washing machine in the kitchen and dryer is steps away in the mudroom. The yard is a work-in-progress. We live in a neighboring house and will be working toward bringing the gardens back to life in the spring. We recently had a patio created in the backyard using salvaged slate stones from the brand new sidewalk installed in the front yard in the fall of 2023. Enjoy relaxing on the stone patio or a picnic meal just outside the back door (off the kitchen). The location really can't be beat. Within a few blocks you will find: Gimme Coffee (a local favorite), Northstar House (restaurant focused on locally produced food), Kinney Drugs (pharmacy), Triangle Park (great place to picnic or relax on a bench and watch the creek flow by), Cascadilla Gorge Trail (take it all the way up to Cornell's campus!), neighborhood elementary school, and even a hair salon (Karma Salon) on the same block! These are just some of highlights of our neighborhood. Downtown is within a few blocks, too! There you'll find Greenstar Coop (local, community owned grocery), Buffalo Street Books (cooperatively-owned independent bookstore), post office, shops, cafes, restaurants, yoga studio, independent movie theater, bars, a historic theater, library, and more! It is ALL WALKABLE from the Cottage House. If you have a car, there is a driveway with a private parking spot that comes with the house (free street parking is available, too). If you don't have a car, Ithaca Car Share is a great option and there are multiple cars available right in our neighborhood!
