House for rent just outside Washington DC

This is a solid, clean, comfortable 2BR/2BA house in a quiet residential area of Takoma Park MD, known for its progressive politics and quirky small-town feel, on the edge of Washington DC. The rooms are large and bright with good closet space. The kitchen is fully equipped. You can use our furnishings and/or add your own. Short walk to nature along Sligo Creek and Long Branch Creek, and a 2-3 minute drive or bus to shops, restaurants, and metro to DC. Nearby universities include Washington Adventist (across the street), Catholic University, and University of Maryland. I would love our home to help someone coming to the DC area in the educational or creative fields. There are two good-sized bedrooms, one with a bathroom, so it could be right for a couple with 1-2 kids (or no kids). Both bathrooms are original 1950s style with tubs/showers. The kitchen has a casual eating/sitting area in addition to the dining room. The living room has a large flat-screen TV and a nice baby grand piano. No cats please, dogs we can discuss. There's a pleasant fenced yard and easy street parking. Possible use of the driveway if needed. Bus stops less than a block away take you to downtown Takoma Park, metro to DC, Silver Spring, etc. We can offer kitchenware and possible use of a car. I am an artist, photo teacher, and musician. This listing is the main floor of our house while our family is overseas. There is also a large unfurnished basement apartment (former granny suite) I will be renting separately, and I will keep a small room over the garage for when I come back to visit. Both are completely separate from the main house, including separate laundry, HVAC, and yard space.
