This is beautiful, elegantly furnished apartment on the second floor (third American) of a beautiful corner palace overlooking the Canale di San Vio, in one of Venice's most sought-after neighbourhoods, only few minutes from the Accademia and the Guggenheim Collection, on the same Fondamenta as Palazzo Cini. Situated between the Grand Canal and the Zattere, close to shops and excellent restaurants, including one of the best cicchetti bars of the entire city. With windows on three sides, the apartment is also extremely airy and full of natural light. The apartment has lots of period features: rare Venetian marble flooring, beautiful classic furniture and paintings, rare old photographs. It is accessed by its own dedicated door and staircase (c. 30 steps). A large entrance hall leads to a spacious and light living room with two windows with Juliet balconies overlooking the Canale di San Vio. A large dine-in kitchen has a dining table comfortably seating 8 people. The flat has two double-bedrooms (one of which overlooks the canal) and a newly refurbished bathroom with shower. A third bedroom with bunkbeds can be used at a small extra cost. There is air-conditioning in the living room, which also benefits the main bedroom. The TV has satellite connection with all the main world-wide programmes (BBC, CNN, etc.) There is no telephone landline but there is WIFI. The museums are only a five minutes' walk away, yet the area is tranquil, ideal for relaxation or as a writing retreat. It is also serviced by excellent shops, it has a nearby supermarket, and a small fish and vegetable market (about 10 minutes' walk, in Campo Santa Margherita) and, if you want to exercise after all that eating, a gym within 5 minutes (www.palestraclubdelfino.com). The ferry (vaporetto) stops of the Accademia and the Zattere are round the corner. The minimum rental period is two weeks. The rent is negotiable for stays of three weeks or longer. For short stays at Christmas, Carnival, Easter, the Redentore weekend in July, the Biennale opening period (early June) and the Festival del Cinema period (late-August/early September), the weekly charge will be 1000 Euros, but again the rent is negotiable for longer stays. Cleaning can be arranged on demand and at extra cost. Please contact Filippo de Vivo at f.de-vivo@bbk.ac.uk
