Our apartment is nestled on a quiet street that ends on glistening Sydney Harbour (250 metres away). Our apartment is fully-furnished on the first floor in a secure, quiet building of 7 apartments - it has 2 bedrooms - main has a queen bed and built in wardrobe, flatscreen tv and dvd player. The second room has a double bed and single bed as a bunk style. There is a spacious dining and living area also with a flatscreen tv and dvd player. There’s a dining setting and chairs for 6 and a fully stocked linen press. There is also a desk that others have enjoyed using as a workstation (WIFI is all set up) in the corner of the living area - by the windows where the afternoon sun streams in. There’s a modern kitchen, attractive bathroom with separate shower and bath, and reverse cycle air conditioning. It’s been freshly painted and carpeted throughout. It is just 3kms from the centre of Sydney yet is surrounded by trees -we often get beautiful rosellas on our balcony, which is a nice secluded spot great for a drink There is a commercial car share where you can hire a car (from the GoGet program) based on our street 2 minutes walk from the unit, and to get to the main bus stop is about a 75-metre walk. Alternatively, we are well serviced with Uber and Taxis. It is very well placed for reaching the city (3kms away) - we like that the centre of town is an easy, quick bus or light rail trip away, or indeed an interesting walk if you have a little more time (approx. 40 mins to Circular Quay, less so to Chinatown and the city centre). We are also very close to a major Sydney hospital (Royal Prince Alfred) and the University of Sydney, University of Notre Dame and (University of Technology, Sydney) UTS are 2 kms away. Buses are available from the end of our street and take 10 mins to the University of Sydney and 10-15 mins to UTS during peak times. Buses also leave every 10-15 mins during this time also. Those three universities can be reached by foot in an easy walk in under 25 mins. The harbour is at the end of our street which is bound by a fantastic walking/ jogging and cycling track, and an expansive park with kids' playgrounds. Our apartment is 50 metres to Glebe Point Road where there is a terrific Sri Lankan, convenience store, pharmacy, boutique bottle shop, chic wine bar and high-end bistro (Glebe Point Diner) Keep walking for 5 mins and you'll come to the local shops incl supermarket, gourmet butcher, baker, deli (with lots of home cooked meal options), green grocer, pub, takeaway Japanese, fish and chips place, pizza, Italian café, South American bakery. The tramsheds dining precinct is 600m away and a pleasant 7-minute walk. It has 12 restaurants, bars and cafes along with a supermarket, nail bar and gym. It is a great option for a walk and gelato or a fantastic Egyptian or Vietnamese dinner http://www.tramshedssydney.com.au/ We are 20 mins walk from the Sydney Fish Markets which has fresh seafood available daily - a further 10 mins walk and you're in Darling Harbour (both destinations are also on the light rail which connects Glebe to the centre of Sydney). Broadway, our nearest shopping centre is just over 1km down the road (a 20 min straight walk or 10 mins on bus) and has cinemas, a food court and anything you would want to buy http://www.broadwaysydney.com.au/ The 370 bus is available from Glebe which takes you directly to Coogee Beach. There are vibrant lively markets every Saturday with food, music and quirky gifts down the road and you are spoilt for choice if Pilates, yoga or bookshops are your thing.... In short, it's an interesting place with a very up-beat and friendly feel to it, that we love!
