Unique apt with deck & spectacular views in the heart of Paris

I couldn't speak more highly of Nicolas' apartment. The terrace was stunning, the office was a luxury, all the appliances were modern and the place was spotless. The photos really do not do the place justice - you have to experience the views of Paris from the terrace (and the Eiffel Tower from the bedroom!) by yourself. I was also very pleasantly surprised by how exciting the neighborhood is - so many wonderful cafés and restaurants, and Montorgeuil is just steps away. We'll be back!

This is a splendid apartment, tastefully and sleekly appointed, with a view to die for. Yes, there are 120 steps up (who's counting?), but they are worth it for the view. We also loved the neighborhood that lies in between the highly gentrified rue Montorgueil and the more popular, diverse Strasbourg-St Denis. The owner is a gem - attentive and responsive. An excellent experience overall.

This apartment turned out to be all we dreamed of. The deck offers a fantastic view of Paris, and the workspace in the apartment is ideal for a professor on sabbatical. The apartment is quiet and well equipped, and the neighborhood has everything you might want in the way of stores and restaurants. The landlord is attentive and reliable. My wife and I would readily return for another sabbatical in Paris.

I agree with the previous reviews - the view is spectacular, the apartment is pretty and has everything one needs, and the owner is quick to respond to questions and problems. The building is on a relatively quiet side street but is quite close to lots of restaurants/cafes, especially on the busy pedestrian street Rue Montorgueil. Since the apartment is at the top of the building, you can hear some distant street noises, but it didn't bother me, and the bedroom itself is nice and quiet. The building is very well situated for public transport - metro and RER stations are very convenient. Of course, you have to get used to walking up 6 flights of stairs (good exercise...). The neighbors below are sensitive to noise and request that you walk softly - I told them I'd be happy to do so if they also respected my noise concerns, and this usually worked. (The guy speaks English, by the way).

My wife and I found the apartment very comfortable. The views are fantastic, we spent many evenings on the deck enjoying champagne while marveling at beautiful Paris around us. We felt safe in the neighborhood and found the location to be ideal with bakeries, street markets, a bike shop and many amazing restaurants within a few blocks. The location also allowed us to walk to many popular Paris sites; however, nearby metro stations were convenient too. The owners were helpful, informative and easy to work with. One of the best places that we have stayed while traveling.

Nicolas was a gracious, attentive and supportive host. He was quick to respond to my messages and was always helpful with any concerns I had (they were few and far between). The photos of his apartment do not do justice to how spectacular it really is, made even better by its perfect location in the heart of Paris. I would not recommend staying anywhere but here!!

We just spent most of an academic year in this truly unique apartment. The view is simply spectacular: Sacré-Coeur, Pompidou, a breathtaking panorama of Paris roof tops, etc. from the terrace, and the Eiffel tower (as our bedside lamp!) from the bedroom. My wife is a photographer and painter, so ample lighting is important, and this apartment was the perfect fit, with the terrace providing private access to the outdoors...smack in the middle of Paris. The apartment is also nicely decorated, clean, totally functional and modern. The owner is friendly and although he lives abroad, he is totally responsive (he often helped us with paperwork for French formalities, banking, etc.). And then there is (in our opinion) the nest neighborhood in Paris: shops, bakeries, groceries, cinemas, theaters, countless restaurants, all literally within a few hundred meters from the apartment. Living atop a 200 year-old building has its perks, and its challenges, foremost being the staircase to the 6th floor after a day's work (especially carrying a twelve kilogram folding bicycle, which I managed to do throughout our stay). Another minor adjustment was the need to practice light walking in the apartment, to avoid annoying the 5th floor neighbors. We have stayed in Paris several times in the past, in different neighborhoods, and this apartment was by far our favorite. We would most definitely return there if the opportunity arises.

This is an amazing apartment with breath-taking views of Sacré Coeur from the terrasse, and of the Eiffel tower from the bedroom (this view is particularly outstanding). I stayed in this apartment for almost 7 months and the view never got old! Truly breath-taking. I took advantage of the terrasse in warmer months and it was a treat. I recommend it if you are planning on staying in Paris during the summer. If you plan on staying in Paris in winter months, I also strongly recommend this apartment. It is on the top floor and natural light always comes into the apartment, even when it is grey and rainy (which is very often during the winter in Paris). The apartment was a life-saver during the gloomy months and I felt cheerful when most other Parisians did not! The rent price is a little higher than other places that I had inquired about, but in my view it was well worth it just for the views and the natural light. The apartment is very clean and beautifully decorated. The appliances and furniture are very modern. The owner is very friendly and helpful. Somebody comes in once a week to clean, which is great. There is a separate work area and I was able to work from home. The location is fantastic. Very central, with great bars and restaurants within walking distance. One of my favorite areas in Paris. The 6-floor walk-up was a bit difficult at first, but I got used to it after a month. I had very firm legs at the end of my stay :) I will definitely stay here if I need to spend some time in Paris again.
