Montréal, Québec, Canada
Preferred Destination: Paris, Île-de-France, France
Cozy, luminous fully-renovated 2-bedroom apartment in a beautiful converted factory in the heart of the City. Perfect for 1-2 adults with or without children. The high ceilings make for a beautiful cachet. The three large windows let in bright morning sun through the rustling leaves of ancient poplar trees. The antique teak dining table can seat up to 10 people; it also serves as a lovely desk space with direct view out the window. The living room area can comfortably sit 4-5 people. A large computer screen can be used to watch movies or shows off your devices. There is an apartment style piano for music lovers! The master bedroom has an organic memory foam mattress; sleeping on it is like sleeping on clouds! There is enough space at the foot of the bed to do yoga or Thai chi. There is a set of weights and an exercise bike for you to train with. The second bedroom has double-doors and is set up with a memory foam double mattress in a mezzanine. Underneath is a single mattress with lots of big pillows to hang out in. There is a folding desk and desk chair in that room as well. The kitchen is fully equipped with stove, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, toaster, toaster oven, Italian coffee maker, pots and pans, etc. The washer and dryer are shared with two other units and are located in the basement (50 cents per load). The plants are lush and full of life, bringing greenery and oxygen into the space. The crystal "comet" chandelier is breathtaking, as are many of the other original light fixtures. The building is walking distance to the scenic St. Lawrence River, the historic Lachine Canal, a bustling farmer's market and Bâtiment 7, a community-run space that houses a family-friendly brew pub, non-profit grocery store, youth-run arcade, an urban farm and a whole slew of community workshops (wood, bike, car mechanic, ceramic, silk screening, photo). The bixi stand is just a few minutes away, and it is biking distance to most tourist attractions, including the old port of Montreal and three of the universities (McGill, Concordia and UQAM). The metro (subway) station is a 15-minute walk away, but there are local buses that can take you there in 5 minutes.
