This is an amazing, unusual, very bright and large home in the most desirable Montreal neighborhood. We have reduced rental rate by over 50% for taking care of our adorable, friendly, curious 6-year old cat Bernie, who loves interacting with humans and is very affectionate. Renter should love cats and want to interact with Bernie. Once he knows you, he may want to fetch a stick you throw or will sit on his scratching post waiting for you to ask him to "give a paw" (raise it to shake hands) in exchange for a treat, This is a beautiful and special place in the best location in Montréal, a block from Mount Royal Park (and tennis courts), in the trendy "plateau" area, close to great restaurants, food shopping, public transportation, friendly neighborhood, walk to downtown and universities. Originally a Baptist Church in the woods, the building became a synagogue in 1930 and was converted to a private home 34 years ago. The ground floor has 14 foot natural wood ceiling, skylights, a very large open space living room (with grand piano, B&O stereo, a raised completely new 2025 kitchen and dining area with custom red oak cabinets, granite counters, all new electric convection and gas cooktop stove, professional quiet vent, Miele dishwasher, microwave, toaster-air fryer, etc, and full bathroom on ground floor, kitchen is open to has separate dining area with glass doors to an private enclosed yard with a small cherry tree, place to sit, barbeque, place were a car can be parked (electric remote controlled fence). A downstairs offfice in the front is not included in the rental. Upstairs are 2 bedrooms, one with a queen bed private bath and this bedroom opens to large front balcony (cat not allowed out), the second bedroom has a double bed and a small rear balcony. We can negotiate if the utilities are included (gas for heat and stovetop, electricity with supplementary electric heat in entrance, and electric AC-heat pump on each floor that can be used for heat before cold winter, is desired, high speed fiber internet). We are one block from the Mount Royal Park, designed by Olmstead, with walking and biking trails, and it is a 20 minute walk to McGill Campus, 25 minutes to downtown or UQAM science campus. Near restaurants galore, Montreal's 2 original bagel shops, good inexpensive food shopping, and lots of cafés and pastry shops to tempt you, along with a vibrant music scene.
