It has a main house, a casita (cottage) and a separate apartment. The property offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere with special areas and wonderful gardens. THE MAIN HOUSE The main house has a reception foyer leading off to the left into a study with doors opening onto a covered terrace. The gardens have been meticulously planned and laid out to enhance the serenity and sanctuary of the finca. Leading from the foyer straight though, you will find a very large lounge which joins the dining area. There is central heating and two fireplaces for the colder months. Big doors and windows open up to allow a lot of light and the sound of the birds to enter into the home. There is a small cozy den with a fireplace next to the dining room. A small terrace and doors lead out onto another one of the numerous terraces. Stairs from the lounge take you up onto the first floor to the bedrooms and bathrooms. All the rooms have built in cupboards, and the master bedroom has air conditioning. The second study is also located on the first floor with its own terrace. The main house kitchen is large, well equipped and has all the electrical appliances you need. Cookery and gardening books as well as a desk for computer use area are details that contribute to a homely atmosphere. The pool (12m x 5m) with a shaded terrace and lush green grass surrounded by palm trees is the perfect relaxation and stress free zone. CASITA and APARTMENT The casita is just steps away from the main house, a unit on its own. It has a lounge, dining area, two bedrooms, a bathroom and a private terrace. The separate apartment is accessed by stairs that are located adjacent to the main house. It is a self-contained apartment, that includes a large open plan lounge dining area with chimney and a kitchenette on the far end with a seating area. Leading off the main living area are two bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. The apartment has a wonderful terrace with spectacular country views to enjoy the countryside and the gardens. Both the Casita an apartment have ceiling and portable fans. All three kitchens feature osmosis water. GARDENS The gardens need love and attention ( although the owners will supply the services of a gardener once a week). The Mediterranean gardens were lovingly created over 12 years by the owners. There are 6 zones separated from the surrounding fields by walls. As background: in the beginning the couple had different garden ideas. The problem was solved by creating "his" and "her" gardens with the house being the divider. It worked beautifully and over the years the North-facing gardens consisted predominantly of succulent/cactus/ Palm tree gardens and the South-facing concentrated on normal Mediterranean gardening, little watering and shrubs and flowers and shade-creating trees. The gardens have become a haven for birds and a paradise for anyone who likes nature, peace and quietness. OTHER A tool shed, a storage area, an outside toilet, laundry & washroom are all extras and are found located on the property. The outside fields do not have to be maintained as the local farmer ploughs them. Hammocks for lazing around are scattered among the gardens. Several sporting amenities (Bicycles, table tennis, football table, badminton etc.) are available for renter use. Location & surrounding area: Santanyí in the southeast of Mallorca is among the most popular villages of the island and has resisted over centuries Romans, Arabs and pirates. The beautiful small city with its golden façade of sandstone is elevated from the green surrounding and attracts tourists as well as residents on Wednesdays and Saturdays to the colourful weekly market. Around the Plaza Mayor, there are various cafés and restaurants offering a broad culinary selection. The surrounding narrow streets with beautiful shops invite you to stroll. Two newspaper shops have foreign publications in the morning of same day magazines, and can reserve for pickup. Gothic cathedral offers regular mass. Supermarkets are located on the outskirts. The natural preserve of Mondragó is nearby offering numerous routes for hikers, whereas the idyllic bays at the east coast, as Cala Santanyí or Cala Llombards are perfect for bathing. The harbour of Portocolom and the golf course of Vall d’Or are at a short distance. Es Llombards, a sleepy town 1km from the house, has four restaurants, three small cafes/bars, and two bakeries. Ses Salines, 2km from the house, has restaurants, cafes, a church, supermarket, a street market and a vet. Manolo´s seafood restaurant is particularly popular with locals and foreigners. Colonia San Jordi, 8km from the house, is a traditional beach town which has benefitted from increased tourism. Waterfront restaurants, cafes, bars & shops. It has several beaches and a marina. Great for evening strolls. Ses Salines Faro (Lighthouse): 8km from the house, beautiful for long walks along the coast and the small beaches; can walk all the way to San Jordi.
